Strange times indeed, but as Amalia Wahlström, a friend of mine put it the other day:

"We are one with each other, we are one with nature. If one good thing could rise from the corona virus, I hope it is this insight. We are not static individuals but interconnected beings that affect and depend on one another. In the same way, we as species are not disconnected from nature, but deeply intertwined with her and completely dependent on her.

Many parts of the world have now paused for a moment. What a unique moment in modern history! Allowing Mother Nature to at least take one big deep breath. What will happen with society when we can’t keep ourselves as distracted with work and consumerism? Could this be a unique large scale opportunity to reflect on our lives and how we want to live? I don’t think it is an opportunity in itself - unless we turn it into exactly that!"

I used to be more idealistic but I agree with her, and if there is something we can learn from all this it's that we still can change things. In recent years with ever increasing globalisation I often felt the world far too big and complex to change, but apparently when there is an immediate threat it doesn't take that long at all to shut down half the world for better and for worse. And as we all know by now, we are facing much bigger and very immediate threats far greater than the corona virus that need almost equally immediate response. So lets hope, in spite of the tragedy that corona inevitably will bring upon us be it direct or indirect, that we will come out of this as a more unified humanity.

Also this time to come will be a chance for many of us to do things we simply didn't feel we had time for in our busy lives and hopefully some new creative challenges will arise as we can't move as normal. For me this will mean sharing some music and videos again. Playing and recording music with moving pictures are two of the best things I know in life and I want to keep doing it forever so I hope you will enjoy these small productions I'm putting together.

For you who don't know it I am living in a dorm with 60 other students on a little mountain about 20 minutes north of Gothenburg studying music at a small school for various arts. Classes have been suspended for a month and it has been decided that no one enters or leaves the mountain during this time in order to minimize the spread. Boring? Well not really... I can imagine worse fates than being in quarantine with 60 creative people on a mountain in the woods.
