Hello, my name is Svetlana Kolosova. I am the Director of the “BIG SKY” International Jazz Festival-Competition. In 2016, we held the first competition with Alex Kolosov. He is the Art Director of many international jazz festivals and projects that we organized in Russia, Italy, Spain, Montenegro, Finland, Poland and other countries of the world during 17 years .
Now we are in forced isolation, but this does not mean that we are divided. We are together!
Now I head the organizing committee of the «JAZZ IS LIFE» Marathon. We start this project among jazz musicians to support each other and, after quarantine has been lifted, perform together on one big jazz stage.
Our partner named “The CIS + World National Program”, represented by Anastasia Pavlova, supported us .
As the great jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong said: “What we play is life itself.” These words became the leitmotif of our action, which unites jazz musicians from all over the world! Due to the spread of coronavirus, we are forced to be in self-isolation, in our apartments, houses, cities and countries. But in all conditions, artists remain artists!
“Jazz music is liberation,” said Francoise Sagan. And for some time we will unite in free creative flight. The World «JAZZ IS LIFE» Marathon is an opportunity to see, hear and support each other. We are optimists and we know that when the obstacles are gone, we will all meet with great joy on one big jazz stage to play and sing the ODE of LIFE!
