Expats in Cluj - Anna Bouw-Bolik
Anna Bouw-Bolik moved to Cluj in 2018 after having visited the city several times before. In this episode of “Expats in Cluj”, our host Ingo Tegge talks with her about her experiences with moving her family to a new city in a new country. They also speak about parenting in Cluj-Napoca and about Ms. Bouw-Bolik’s dedication to the Cluj International Women’s Club (CIWC), an organization of about 100 members. As the club’s president, Anna Bouw-Bolik helps shape its various activities that range from offering guidance and tips to newly arriving expatriate women to campaigning against gender-based violence and providing humanitarian aid for war-torn Ukraine.

Cluj-Napoca is home to numerous French-speaking students, many of which study human medicine, veterinary medicine, and pharmacy. “Expats in Cluj” host Ingo Tegge meets Yannick Mével, a French citizen who is in his third year of studying at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF). They talk about his personal experiences as a medical student in Romania and about his role as president of the Corporation Médicale Cluj (CMC), the association of French speaking healthcare students. Founded in 2010, the CMC aims at supporting its members in many ways, ranging from giving advice on finding accommodation to organizing recreational activities.
