Cool review from ex-Yugoslavia! Thanx for the support! 🍻Out Of The Darkness #17
(google translation)
STRIG: OI! #2, A5, 88 pages From the heart of Wallachia comes another fanzine by Cezar, an old fanzine artist and a fighter for the scene, and I have to admit that the design is spectacular. As for the content, there are a bunch of interviews, all enriched with illustrations and comics by artist Missrhine, which are a combination of standard punk motifs with traditional Romanian/Wallachian mythology. As for the bands, there are Live By The Sword, Trespasser, and a bunch of other Romanian punks and bands, and there are even some texts in Romanian. A great story with St. Paulia fans from Greece, a Slovak fanzine artist, and many more texts dealing with politics and anarchism with people who influenced the formation of politically engaged punk in Romania. Too many metal bands for my taste, but as an informative read it definitely deserves attention. The name of the fanzine itself (a slightly unoriginal logo - font from the movie A Clockwork Orange) is a play on words because a strig is a being, a spirit that rises from the grave, disturbed, or to disturb,
something like that. To sum up, Cezar did an excellent job - design, content + poster stickers. I'll probably buy the third issue when it comes out.
