Alchemy has acquired Bware Labs, the Romania-based start-up blockchain infrastructure platform and application programming interface services provider.

Web3 infrastructure platform Alchemy disclosed the acquisition in an announcement on Aug. 29, highlighting Bware Labs’ growth trajectory and suite of blockchain infrastructure and API services as additions that will help Alchemy execute on its product roadmap.

BMW Group Romania is expanding its global network of IT and software centers by opening a new location in Cluj-Napoca, in partnership with NTT DATA. The joint venture will double its workforce to 250 experts by the end of the year. In the long term, the goal is to reach over a thousand employees.

SoftServe Inc., one of the largest IT companies in Central and Eastern Europe, donates 1.5 million dollars to support the third edition of the “Drive for Life” project, an initiative of the company’s charity fund – Open Eyes – which has in order to support rescuers in Ukraine by providing fully equipped ambulances.

Employees may be reluctant to adapt to new cultural norms, especially if they contradict long-standing practices. Clear and consistent communication is also crucial. BCG’s 18th annual innovation study reveals that “innovation readiness” has declined by 17 percentage points in companies from 2022  83% of companies consider innovation a top three priority, but only 3% are ready to achieve their innovation goals

🔹 More than half of executives cite unclear strategy as one of the top three challenges for their companies

🔹Although 86% of organizations are experimenting with GenAI for innovation, only 8% are applying GenAI at scale.

Today, more and more companies see innovation as critical to success, but fewer are prepared to do it. This contradiction is the conclusion of the Boston Consulting Group’s (BCG) annual innovation study, now in its 18th edition.

This year, 83 percent of the 1,000 executives surveyed—a record percentage—listed innovation among their top three priorities, but only 3 percent of companies met BCG’s criteria for being “innovation ready,” up from 20 percent in 2022.

“The decrease of 17 percentage points in terms of readiness for innovation in just two years is alarming. This decline should be a wake-up call for any leader seeking competitive advantage through innovation,” said Laszlo Juhasz, Managing Director and Senior Partner in Boston Consulting Group (BCG)’s Budapest office. “The pandemic, economic fluctuations and growing geopolitical tensions have led executives to focus on short-term agility and cost management, which is the likely cause of the significant decline in innovation capacity,” added Juhász.

New study from SoftServe reveals less Gen AI value than expected despite growing use cases and internal limitations

Study Key findings include:

🔶 More than half of decision-makers say their company established business goals for using Gen AI, yet 79% or more are concerned with their organization’s ability to execute those goals with current levels of internal or external expertise.

🔶 Despite 75% or more experiencing Gen AI skill readiness challenges, organizations continue to pile up use cases as most have implemented at least three use cases and will expand the use of two more, including plans to pilot at least one more use case in the next 12-18 months.

🔶 Just 51% of leaders are extremely confident their current strategy will allow them to reach maximum Gen AI value from future use cases, while concurrently, 77% are concerned with their company’s potential to realize business value in either the short or long term.

🔶 Only 42% of organizations have the capabilities to train Gen AI models and a staggering 89% face difficulties preparing business data for Gen AI use.

🔶 Less than one-fourth (24%) have governance plans in place, even though 90% agree adopting a governance plan is imperative to ensuring the responsible use and risk mitigation of Gen AI.
