💥💥💥 Yesterday evening, Between Revolutions / Între revoluții received the Best Feature Award at UnArchive Fest from a jury composed of filmmakers Firouzeh Khosrovani, Bill Morrison, and Sara Fgaier.

🗯️Director’s statement on stage: “I am truly honored that my film was selected at this festival alongside so many powerful films, and I am grateful that this jury decided to award it. I’ve never been to a festival that looks so obsessively at the past and at the same time is so relevant for today. Speaking about the present, I hope that the filmmakers of tomorrow will use today’s archives to tell a more truthful story of the times we are living in now, when most people in the Western hemisphere have decided not to look at the present and to close their eyes. I hope that the filmmakers of tomorrow will do justice to the people of Palestine who are dispossessed of their lives, land, and memory, and whose identity is erased.”

🇮🇹🇮🇹 Next stop for Between Revolutions: Rome, Italy (May, 28 - June, 2) at UnArchive Fest, part of the International Competition.

"In the international competition, 11 feature films, from Italy, France, United Kingdom, Romania, Iran, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Chile, Russia and Brazil, of artists who have already conquered international festivals are now landing in Rome for the first Italian festival investigating the boundaries of the creative success of archives.

Images that emancipate themselves from their original meaning to take on a new life and allow for a dialogue between past and present."

Between Revolutions / Între revoluții wins the Transeuropa Award at the 35th edition of Trieste Film Festival - Alpe Adria Cinema 💥

Jury’s statement: “An intimate and political documentary that weaves together the great history of two countries rarely united, and the lives of two women resisting oppressive regimes and challenging patriarchal societies through the power of their desire.

By juxtaposing unusual archive images from two distant political and cultural contexts, the film brings us closer to exciting moments of courage and fear, hope and disappointment that accompany revolutions, and places Eastern Europe and the Middle East at the center of the great events that marked the 20th century.”
