Qatar Museums, in collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent, is launching a humanitarian initiative to champion peace and respond to the recent events unfolding in Gaza, Palestine. The weekly fundraising event Art for Peace is set to commence on Friday 19 January and will continue every Friday until 8 March 2024, from 2 pm to 6 pm. The campaign will take place across various Qatar Museums’ entities, marking a significant collaboration between art, community, and humanitarian efforts.
Commencing at the Qatar Auto Museum within Expo 2023 Doha on Friday, 19 January, the 8-week campaign promises an array of engaging activities and initiatives aimed at fostering a sense of unity and compassion:
- Live Painting: Experience live painting sessions by Qatar Museums, Qatar University, and acclaimed artists, showcasing creativity in action.
- Arts & Crafts Bazaar: Explore a vibrant showcase of artistry by local artists, curated by the Community Service Department at Qatar Museums and Qatar University.
- Community Programs: Each Qatar Museums entity will spearhead and manage distinctive community programs and activities, amplifying the impact of the campaign.

Amazing Qatar - Whale Shark aggregations season.

Do you know each year there are hundreds of Whale Sharks that congregate in the waters off the north east coast of Qatar in the months from April to September. While these magnificent creatures are the biggest fish in the ocean, they are also one of the most gentle and majestic creatures that you will find underwater.

Qatar 2022: Did you realised that FIFA change the match ball before the last few matches in the Worldcup?

The final stages of the 2022 Qatar World Cup are coming, and FIFA have introduced a new match ball for the last four games of the tournament. And then, there were four. The last four teams of the 2022 Qatar World Cup have been decided, and FIFA did the same to introduced the newest version of the official matchball. It will be used through this last four games, the two semifinals matches, the third place game, as well as in the final matchup.

Typically a newest version of the official FIFA World Cup match ball is introduced for the last game of the tournament, but as almost every little detail in this tournament played on November, FIFA have made small but crucial changes in order to get people's attention for what happens on the field.

The new match ball for the last four games of the Qatar 2022 World Cup is called "Al Hilm". It translates as "the dream" from Arabic. It has the second part of the message contained in "Al Rhila", the first official match ball presented as "the journey".

It was reported by FIFA for Al Rhila, "the ball features the latest advances in ball design and the same Adidas linked technology that was contained in Al Rihla and that greatly helped referees make faster and more accurate decisions during this World Cup." This also features for the new "Al Hilm" match ball.

According to FIFA, "the design is set on a textured gold base colour which features a subtle triangular pattern, drawing inspiration from the sparkling deserts of the region that surround the city of Doha, the colour of the FIFA World Cup trophy, and the pattern of the Qatar flag. “Al Hilm represents a beacon of light on the power of sport and football to bring the world together," said Nick Craggs, general manager of football in Adidas.

Both balls feature the same technology, engineered to support the highest game speeds as they travel faster in flight than any other World Cup ball. Al Hilm is revealed with a unique graphic design, befitting of an occasion as historic as the final matches of a FIFA World Cup™.

The design is set on a textured gold base color which features a subtle triangular pattern, drawing inspiration from the sparkling deserts of the region that surround the city, the color of the FIFA World Cup™ trophy, and the pattern of the Qatar flag. Bold red accents complement the graphic, reflecting both the generative architecture of Qatar, and once again, the country’s flag.
