6 ecosystems under CresCine's radar
How about a map to see where the core partners of CresCine are?
🌍Pinpoint each of them on the European landscape below:
As they are not the only small markets in Europe, they certainly can represent them in the context of bringing insights about the entirety of the EU’s smaller ecosystems.
They each depict a strong variety and relevance and address the complexity within each region compared to European and international contexts.
Here is a small rundown of their diversity and uniqueness:
- 🇪🇪 Estonia / 🇱🇹 Lithuania: the smallest members within CresCine!
- 🇩🇰 Denmark: part of the geo-culturally tight-knit Scandinavian markets.
- 🇮🇪 Ireland / 🇧🇪 Belgium: representing small Western- European countries with bigger neighbors sharing the same language (UK, NL, FR); one significant difference: Belgium is split into two distinct markets: Flemish and Wallonian. We focus on the Flemish market only.
- 🇵🇹 Portugal: one of the small markets in Southern Europe.
- 🇭🇷 Croatia: representing the member states in South-Eastern Europe and also enabling us to look towards potential future member states in the Balkan region!
One crucial aspect of our 15 + members CresCine consortium is also that the perspectives, needs, and opportunities of these small peripheral countries reach some of the central coordinating institutions of European film industries who also collaborate with us, such as:
- EFAD (European Film Agency Directors Association)
- EFA (European Film Academy)
- Marché du Film (Cannes Festival)
- CEPI (European Audiovisual Production Association)...
Facilitating dialogue, learning from and including small countries' perspectives means building solutions for the benefit of the broader European industries and securing them through holistic policy instruments.
