A vital part of our Campbell's Rich & Thick Stock project, was to have stylized yet realistic food for all the recipes.
We carefully created all ingredients and sauce in 3D for the best result and liberty for action and camera movement.

Maybe it's just a tiny frown on your belly button, or maybe your whole body is sobbing! It needs some energy and some good healthy exercise! That's the concept behind the Rapid Fit & Well Portugal Gym campaign by FCB Lisboa / Pedro Magalhães.
We created some fully CG unhappy body faces that are both weird and cool!

We are proud to present our latest Rice Krispies Squares Bars Canada ad for Leo Burnett, a playful celebration of the "ooey gooey togertheness" of the cereal.

Last Christmas, we shared with you the heart-warming story of IGA's meatloaf, a family that gathers around the table for Christmas every year, celebrating love, friendship and the joy of sharing food while remembering their loved ones. This animated short film ad, created by Sid Lee and TONIC DNA, directed by Joe Bluhm and animated by Nebula, has won many awards, including Silver at the prestigious CLIO AWARDS. We just baked a new Christmas ad for IGA with our good friends TONIC DNA: the story of a beaver who wouldn’t share his yule log! Nebula was in charge of animation in the fable section. Animating a grumpy beaver and the cutest forest animals in the same shot is quite the emotional challenge! 😅 In the end, grumpy Mr. Beaver learned that sharing is caring, going above and beyond ❤️

Guilherme and Miguel went on “Fábrica do Terror” (“Terror Factory”!) and chatted with Sandra Henriques about our very own Don’t Feed These Animals. From the shortfilm’s backstory and directing challenges to what the future holds, a great read overall. Not to mention Guilherme and Miguel were side by side with José Alves da Silva, character designer and co-creator extraordinaire!

Today is Three Kings Day! Just as they brought presents to little baby Jesus, all the family members in "The Strange Meatloaf" ad brought their gifts!

Our "Coisos and Cenas" ad for Maxmat was given a silver Craft award from Clube Criativos Portugal - the Portuguese Creative Club. Our work was also part of Paladin's bronze award for Art Direction! We're super proud! ❤️
Seeing all the fun we had creating these projects recognized by the community as good work is really rewarding and the start of many more projects we're sure 🙂

Right after our "Dont Feed These Animals" short film completion, and upon the Covid pandemic, we decided we should not only test a remote pipeline, but also have fun while doing it.
So we picked on our main characters - L0b0, the lobotomized rabbit, and Baby - a living carrot, threw in some technical RnD, and came up with simple, fast to produce, super funny videos!
Basically whatever idea we would have, and do it as fast as possible! Not worriyng on the tech side of things, just laughing our way off! Covid was stress enough!
So here's our Orange Veggie Trump gag, the very first of the "Dont Feed These Humans" series.
Even on Live Action shot films, having some kind of Storyboard or Previz is a invaluable tool.
Even better than storyboards, we always like to produce complete animated 3d layouts, or Previz, of the whole thing, including shooting.
This allows us to fine tune actions, camera shots, timings and predict/solve problems. The result is not only a better crafted story, as well as a cost effective, controlled production.
Here is the very first Previz compared with the final film of Pingo Doce Frumania / Minions campaign.

Thing? Thingy?? The "stuff"??? Quite often we go to a hardware store without knowing the actual name of what we need. Not at Maxmat ! Max and Mat, the dynamic duo (or groupie, its hard to say, really) strives hard to find everything a client needs, even if they can’t quite describe it! Having Nuno Markl - a well known Portuguese public figure, known for not having the best DIY skills - as a client also helps! Nebula managed all the film production, from live action shooting to all 3D animation. We always try to tell a small story, and in this case a full circle where not only we have our first Max character calling for action inside the "factory", but also use that element to make a believable and seamless transition from real life to animation, and ending it by getting back to real life with another mission accomplished!
There’s nothing like watching things at the source and that’s exactly what we did with this Reuters Ident: we shot a real eye looking at all these bulbs so we could have the perfect reflection of our news source - the Reuters logo. We think it looks great (pun intended)! What do you think?
This friday the 13th we partnered with Wunderman Thompson Portugal and Jogos Santa Casa to create the latest Euromillions Ad and bring some luck to everyone stuck in traffic! We created a set of congestioned highways except for the Simões Family express lane, which they opened to everyone else through the radio! We had a blast creating this 3D world with dawn lighting environment, all the highways and the traffic system for the cars. Realistic rendering is also a craft we don’t explore often and we were really able to stretch our legs on this one! Hope you like it too! (Given all these cars are in a simulation, can we say they are 100% electric?🤔)
Craaaazy franchise with world-class characters? Check! Kids running all over the set? Double Check!! Healthy fruits and vegetables in the shot? Triple Check!!! We had a blast working with BBDO Portugal and Pingo Doce to create this cool spot for the new FRUMANIA collection. Who’s your favorite Minion?
Today is international Women's Day! The day we celebrate all achievements regarding gender equality and promotion of a safer place for everyone.There's much to be done still - and only by bringing awareness to all the wrongdoing (like domestic violence against women) can we make a better world.
The Portuguese Government’s campaign against domestic violence towards women is finally out and we couldn’t be more humbled and proud to be a part of it - “Not everything will be alright if there’s victims of domestic violence still”. Miguel Madaíl de Freitas and all the team really went out of their comfort zone for this dual-technique approach, conveying all the emotion and seriousness of the topic in a more palatable yet beautiful craft.
