My friends and supporters,
My eagerness pushed me to share this post. I am the founder and current Chief Executive Officer of Al Jabal “The Mountain” Business Incubator. I was influenced to initiate this incubator by my own youth. I grew up in a refugee camp in the West Bank, where war and fear were the only constants. Having lived through the two Intifadas merged very conservative social norms within my community, the mold of education I received was perceived by others to amount to nothing. I realized that was unjust assumption; having to endure conflict, wars, and tolerate a conservative and strict society is a preeminent method to gain knowledge. I, therefore, have dedicated my life towards helping to achieve equality and justice.
The promise and potential of the next generation of leaders and change makers is undoubtably a driving force towards achieving equality and justice. Generation Z have lived through extraordinary circumstances due to war and conflicts, and therefore have a clear vision of how a peaceful world should be; the exact opposite of current realities.
In 2019, we founded Al Jabal Business Incubator in partnership with Drosos Foundation, which works to develop young change makers and entrepreneurs with creative ideas and enables them to convert their passion and ideas into viable and investable businesses, political and social initiatives.
We wrote “From Passion to Market” both as a manual and a book that can target business incubators and accelerators for scaling up the work with customization for each individual. This unique approach uses passion discovery, startup ideation, practical processes, and idea commercialization in conjunction with utilizing digital technology to assist startups.
Al Jabal is one of my main approaches to building equality and economic justice as it aims to motivate and engage young entrepreneurs and changemakers to build an effective and free-functioning society for everyone, regardless of their economic, political, religious, and cultural orientations. Moreover, Al Jabal Incubator intends to achieve full economic and social rights for individuals and rural communities, in a peering mechanism, and we are committed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and providing purposeful and positive action for Palestinians. I strive to provide solutions to an increasingly complex environment through the inner development goals framework. I believe that positive change comes from presence, perspective, empathy, collaboration, and the courage to act.
