TROPICAL UPDATE: Continuing to track Category 1 Hurricane Oscar. Hurricane Warnings are in effect issued by the NHC for eastern Cuba and Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for southeastern Bahamas and portions of the northern and southern coast of Cuba. Oscar is currently moving West-SW at 6mph with maximum sustained winds of 75mph. Oscar is still bringing life threatening amounts of storm surge and rainfall for Cuba, the Bahamas and is expected to turn North tomorrow. Stay safe and stay tuned.
Hurricane Milton will continue to affect the Yucatan Peninsula for the balance of the afternoon. It's still a strong CAT 4, and the storm surge will be the greatest threat, along with flooding and mudslides. Milton will move east of the area tonight, and things should gradually improve. This is still a dangerous storm. Will continue to monitor and update through the afternoon.
Dangerous Hurricane Milton will continue to affect the Yucatan through early evening before it pulls away. Worst of the storm surge will be this afternoon on the back side of the storm. It then will affect Florida by late Wednesday afternoon through Thursday. This is a dangerous storm, so stay indoors and watch for widespread damage and flooding. The Yucatan Peninsula is currently seeing the worst of Category 5 Hurricane Milton and will continue to tonight. There will be major flooding and widespread damage to the areas that have watches & warnings and areas surrounding them. Milton will keep much of its strength as it moves through the Gulf of Mexico and making landfall some time during the day on Wednesday on the west coast of Florida.
