Almost 1 year ago my daughter and I, we spent 2 weeks in a hospital. These are 2 albums of sounds gathered during that period. One recorded by my daughter and another one by me.
One is a collection of sounds captured inside the building, an attempt to grasp the ordinary life of an unordinary place in a very unordinary circumstance of covid pandemic which is treated with utter seriousness in the hospital. And the other is series of captured moments of exhaustion, longing and hope, when I was looking (with my ears) outside the hospital walls to the birds on the trees nearby and at the same time looking inward through the birdsongs at dawn.
Due to safety reasons the hospital windows barely open, so it was impossible to put the mics outside. The sounds are captured as they were heard in the room "behind the glass curtains".
What may be interesting, we weren't there due to covid, but at nights my daughter was attached to the exact same apparatus which is monitoring heart rate and blood saturation of covid patients (you can hear it in the recordings).
'Enjoy' is perhaps not the most appropriate word, at least for me. But I do hope you'll find it somehow interesting.
What is most important Helena is all fine now and I'm happy to host her work under Suche Fakty label. This father is proud as hell!
