Once in a blue moon...I deploy my full language combination interpreting from French, German, English and Swedish into Polish, but also from Polish into French. And almost from Spanish! :O due to the reflex - I get it > I take it ;)
This is hopefully not the last assignment this year, but almost.

The European Parliament is restoring multilingualism by installing mobile booths.
This is done so that more languages can be offered, as every interpreter occupies one booth and works alone to avoid contamination. Hence, every language requires 2 or 3 booths which limits the capacity to service meetings.
A total of 93 booths will be installed, also in a space where the EP used to organise recitals and exhibitions.
Interpreters are happy to work more, but, to quote a colleague "this is not the kind of work I signed up for".
Pfizer - counting on you, I have bought your shares.
Well, I also got Moderna stocks to be fair ;)

The European Parliament is restoring multilingualism by installing mobile booths in meeting rooms and corridors, as well as plexiglass partitions in the booths.
Interpreters will continue to sit alone - one per booth - but the plexi walls will make it easier for a new shift to enter the booth keeping a safe, disinfected space and virgin console for the new colleague.

During the covid crisis, courtrooms are adapted - the audience is outside and teleparticipates while the parties and the judges are protected by plexiglass. Microphones had to be added which gladdens the interpreter.
