The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir stressed the indispensability of education, as stated by the military's media wing. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that General Munir expressed these views during the commencement of the annual convocation week at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad on Monday.

As the chief guest at the inaugural "Master Convocation Ceremony," the Chairman of NUST Board of Governors, COAS Gen Munir, presented medals to the distinction holders. Throughout the convocation week, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students received their degrees.

The statement indicated that more than 3,500 graduates from all NUST Schools were to be awarded degrees in the seven core disciplines at the main campus.

In his address to the graduates, the army chief extended his warmest congratulations to the graduates, their parents, and the faculty.

He lauded NUST for establishing an environment conducive to teaching and learning, fostering brilliant minds prepared to serve the nation effectively. General Munir underlined that today signifies the start of a new chapter in the students' lives, marking a significant transition that demands greater responsibility.

He emphasized that this elevated responsibility should reflect in their character and decisions as they embark on their journey ahead.

A half century later, crystals of the mineral zircon inside a coarse-grained igneous rock fragment collected by Schmitt are giving scientists a deeper understanding about the moon’s formation and the precise age of Earth’s celestial partner.

Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan's opening batsman, has been ruled out of the team's fifth match of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup against Afghanistan on October 23 due to a knee injury.
