We scroll past these headlines in newspapers and posts on social media so effortlessly because these incidents are no longer new to us. These are our everyday posts and headlines. It has now become so normal for us that we forget that behind every one of these headlines is not just news, but a life that mattered, a life that ended, reduced to the words “honour killing” and a few lines on a page. What makes it even more dangerous is not the violence in the headlines, but our silence after reading them. Ask a question to yourself, to society, and to the leaders and the most perfectly written laws of the Islamic Republic, until when will we keep turning lives into headlines and moving on?”
