The wedding festivities of Sheheryar Munawar and Maheen Siddiqui get underway in full swing with the couple offering their fans a sneak peek at their intimate and glamorous events leading up to their marriage.

The to-be-married stars are the talk of the town these days due to their marriage being highly anticipated by fans and they are letting the fans join in their festivities by sharing pictures on their respective Instagram handles.

Sheheryar and Maheen especially look divine in their Mayoun pictures as the former wore a simple kurta paired with a plain white shalwar while carrying a printed shawl.

As for Maheen, she wore a gharara suit with a shirt and covered her head with a net-like dupatta. The model’s entire get-up was adorned in the traditional yellow colour of Mayoun.

The content creator, known for her efforts to explain complex scientific concepts in layman’s terms, has since gone viral after sharing a video titled “PhD Dropout to OnlyFans Model.”

In the video, Zara explains her bold decision to leave her PhD studies behind to pursue a career on OnlyFans, a platform known for adult content where creators share explicit photos and videos for financial gain.

Zara candidly admitted that financial stability played a role in her choice but emphasized that it was only part of the story. “Money was only part of the story,” she said, adding that she has already earned millions from the platform.

However, Zara’s sudden career shift triggered a wave of misinformation, particularly regarding her nationality and personal background.

Speculation began circulating that she might be of Pakistani origin, which prompted her to address these rumors head-on through a post on X (formerly Twitter). In her message, Zara clarified that her full name is “Darcy,”

“With all due respect, I am not Pakistani,” Zara stated. “I believe some people are confusing me with a beautiful influencer named ‘Zara Dar’ (). I am American, born and raised here, with a mixed background that includes American, Persian, Southern European, Middle Eastern, and Indian heritage,” she explained.

Zara further distanced herself from any fake accounts or deepfake videos circulating online that falsely attributed content to her. To ensure her followers could connect with her on official channels, she shared her verified X account, urging fans to follow her for accurate information.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced challenging the military court convictions of its workers and supporters, terming the trials of “civilians in the military courts a blatant violation of justice”.

“A judicial commission should be constituted to probe the May 9 events and November 26 crackdown on PTI protesters,” PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Thursday.

The remarks came shortly after 60 more “culprits” were handed prison terms by the military court for their involvement in the May 9 riots, taking the total number of convicts to 85.

“Sequel to the announcement of the May 9 punishments in light of the Supreme Court’s decision, the Field General Court Martial has promulgated the punishments to the following remaining 60 culprits after examining all evidence, ensuring the provision of all legal rights to the convicts, completion of due process and the appropriate legal proceedings,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

PTI founder Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Khan Niazi was among the two people sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment, according to the military’s media wing.

Underscoring the conclusion of the military trial of all the accused, involved in the May 9 riots, under military custody, the ISPR noted that all the convicted individuals retained the right to appeal and other legal resources, as guaranteed by the Constitution and the law.

The world community, including the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK) and the European Union (EU) had expressed concerns over the sentencing of civilians by the military courts, maintaining that the convictions were against the international law.

Speaking to journalists today, PTI’s Barrister Gohar said that appeals will be filed against these sentences individually as well, urging the Supreme Court to decide the case related to military trial soon.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub said that Khan has also condemned the sentences of civilians by military courts, saying that they cannot convict civilians.

The Janaan actor took to her Instagram and expressed immense disappointment at the unlikely interaction that took place during the show.

“Everyone saw videos of me walking to the crowd and taking pictures and everything was fine. When I was going back to my seat I heard one of the organisers verbally abuse my manager. So I walked up to her and asked what had happened and told the man (one of the organisers) that he cannot speak to her like this. She was so distraught that she went backstage. I followed her to make sure she was okay and Fahad being a gentleman also came to check up on her,” the actor wrote.

She also revealed how the same organiser verbally abused her and her team even more when they started taking photos with the fans at the back of the stage. The situation got so much worse that the people (her fans) had to hold the man back.

“Then we decided to start with the photos with the fans backstage, at this point he came running after us, calling us names, telling us to get out, called off the security protocols, and verbally assaulted us even more (people had to hold him back). We were rushed out by our promoter Arif Khan to not further escalate anything and we managed a personal means of transport to get back safely to the hotel,” she wrote.

Additionally, the shining actor bravely asserted that no one should disrespect anyone regardless of their status or position.

She also emphasised that people should not think that they are absolved from accountability just because they targeted women, who work in male-dominated fields.

Hania said: “Firstly, whatever your position may be, big or small, it gives you no right to disrespect anyone. Secondly, just because us [we] women are in male dominated fields, gives you no right to assume that you can get away with almost anything and that we will not take a stand for ourselves.”

The United States of America and the United Kingdom have expressed reservations about Pakistan’s decision to try civilians in military courts in connection with the May 9, 2023, protests, citing concerns over transparency and fairness.

The US State Department has criticised the lack of judicial independence, transparency, and due process in these military tribunals. A spokesperson for the State Department highlighted the importance of upholding the rule of law and fundamental rights.

“Military courts lack judicial independence, transparency, and due process guarantees,” the spokesperson said.

The United States called on Pakistani authorities to ensure that civilians receive fair trials, as guaranteed by Pakistan’s constitution. “The United States continues to call on Pakistani authorities to respect the right to a fair trial and due process, as enshrined in Pakistan’s constitution,” it added.

Moreover, a spokesperson for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) emphasized that while the UK respects Pakistan’s sovereignty over its legal processes, the use of military courts for civilian trials undermines fundamental rights.

“Trying civilians in military courts lacks transparency, independent scrutiny and undermines the right to a fair trial,” the FCDO spokesperson said.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selected the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the neutral venue for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

According to a PCB spokesperson, the national cricket board officially informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about this decision. Consequently, the Pakistan-India match in the Champions Trophy will also be played in the UAE.

The spokesperson clarified that the final decision on the neutral venue was to be made by the host nation, Pakistan.

The venue’s selection followed a meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and UAE Cricket Board Chairman Sheikh Al Nahyan.

The court on December 21 sentenced several suspects involved in the May 9 unrest. The verdict has sparked strong reactions from residents of Rawalpindi, many of whom expressed favor of the court’s decision to impose accountability for the violent events.

The May 9 incident involved attacks on national institutions, public landmarks, and memorials dedicated to the martyred, leading to widespread condemnation across the country. Speaking to the press, Rawalpindi citizens voiced support for the court’s decision, describing it as an essential step toward justice and national stability.

“We fully condemn the events of May 9. Those responsible for such destruction and disrespect to our institutions deserve these sentences,” one resident stated.

Another citizen reflected on the severity of the attacks, saying, “No country can tolerate its institutions and symbols of national pride being attacked, especially under the influence of political agendas or external forces.”

The sentences follow months of investigations into the events, which saw groups damaging state property and defacing monuments.

“Those who attacked the memorials of our martyrs acted against the spirit of our nation. Justice needed to be served, and it finally has,” another citizen remarked.
