Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that the Kashmiri diaspora would hold an anti-India protest demonstration in front of the UN office in New York on September 26 when Indian premier Narendra Modi will be addressing the UN General Assembly.

The anti-India protest, he said, would be attended and addressed by the representatives of the Kashmiri expatriate community hailing from different parts of the world.

In a statement issued Wednesday, Sultan said that the protest demonstration being staged in front of the UN General Assembly was meant to expose India’s nefarious designs in the region besides seeking the global community’s attention towards the fast deteriorating political and human rights situation in the Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

However, according to industry officials, a recent depreciation in the value of the rupee against the dollar in the interbank market may weaken the price hike. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) is expected to announce new prices for petrol, diesel and other petroleum products on September 15, based on the average international crude oil prices and exchange rate fluctuations in the first 15 days of September.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is in deep waters as it risks grounding 15 planes amid a significant financial crisis due to growing dues owed by the national carrier.
According to reports, PIA has to clear dues worth up to Rs20 billion. Any delay in timely payment of the dues pertaining to fuel, federal excise duty (FED) and lease payments, might lead to 15 planes being grounded.
More than 30 national flights will be suspended if the planes are grounded.
Meanwhile — commenting on the dire situation — the Ministry of Aviation said that overhauling the PIA is a "complicated" process and will take a year. However, during this time it is imperative to keep the national career operatoinal.

The Sino-Pak joint annual air exercise Shaheen-X has commenced in the Jiuquan and Yinchuan cities of Northwest China. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF)’s lead fighter aircraft J-10 C and JF-17 are participating in the exercise along with air and ground crew.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's ODI World Cup 2023 trophy has reached Pakistan for a three-day tour filled with iconic moments, and engaging activities, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday.

“The ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 Trophy, one of the most coveted prizes in the world of cricket, touched down in Lahore on 4 September and is scheduled to depart on 6 September,” the PCB stated.

The trophy began its tour in India, the host of the tournament, on June 27. Prior to coming to Pakistan, it has travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the United States, West Indies, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, France and England.

The World Cup trophy was supposed to be in Pakistan for five days from July 31 to August 4. However, it was delayed since there were question marks over Pakistan’s participation in the tournament.

Milk vendors across the metropolis have announced the suspension of milk purchases, following the tensions escalating between milk sellers and dairy farm owners.
