Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that the Kashmiri diaspora would hold an anti-India protest demonstration in front of the UN office in New York on September 26 when Indian premier Narendra Modi will be addressing the UN General Assembly.

The anti-India protest, he said, would be attended and addressed by the representatives of the Kashmiri expatriate community hailing from different parts of the world.

In a statement issued Wednesday, Sultan said that the protest demonstration being staged in front of the UN General Assembly was meant to expose India’s nefarious designs in the region besides seeking the global community’s attention towards the fast deteriorating political and human rights situation in the Indian occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Another massive hike is expected in the prices of petroleum products in the upcoming fortnightly review amid rise in global oil prices.
However, according to industry officials, a recent depreciation in the value of the rupee against the dollar in the interbank market may weaken the price hike. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) is expected to announce new prices for petrol, diesel and other petroleum products on September 15, based on the average international crude oil prices and exchange rate fluctuations in the first 15 days of September.

Rain is expected to interrupt the must-win Pakistan-Sri Lanka match in Colombo today as the weather continues to be a headache for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The side that emerges victorious today will qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final against India scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.
While it has stopped raining in Colombo at the moment, strong winds continue to blow in the city. Moreover, intermittent rain is forecast throughout the day. If the match today is washed out, Sri Lanka will fix its place in the final since they have a higher run rate than the Green Shirts.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is in deep waters as it risks grounding 15 planes amid a significant financial crisis due to growing dues owed by the national carrier.
According to reports, PIA has to clear dues worth up to Rs20 billion. Any delay in timely payment of the dues pertaining to fuel, federal excise duty (FED) and lease payments, might lead to 15 planes being grounded.
More than 30 national flights will be suspended if the planes are grounded.
Meanwhile — commenting on the dire situation — the Ministry of Aviation said that overhauling the PIA is a "complicated" process and will take a year. However, during this time it is imperative to keep the national career operatoinal.

With the caretaker government launching a massive crackdown to curb smuggling and hoarding of essential commodities, the price and availability of sugar were gradually becoming stable and normal.
In line with its strategy, the government has also planned prize money (cash reward) for those citizens who would provide information leading to the identification of elements involved in the smuggling and hoarding.
For this purpose, a toll-free number has been set up at the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Ministry of Interior to call and share the required information against the elements involved in illegal activities, causing a dent in the national economy, the state news agency reported

Investors are fretting over the ability of the world’s most valuable public company to do business in the world’s second-largest economy.Apple (AAPL) notched its largest daily fall in over a month on Wednesday. The company lost about $200 billion in two days, and its stock is currently the worst performer in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The bans could be an ominous sign for Apple. Apple also produces the majority of its iPhones in Chinese factories.

A video of Omanian fast bowler namely Muhammad Imran has gone viral on social media who looks alike former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar aka Rawalpindi Express.
A lookalike of Shoaib Akhtar one of the most dangerous fast bowlers has recently surfaced on social media and belongs to the Omanian cricket team. The 34-year-old Oman pacer Muhammad Imran is currently playing for a domestic club, Oman White.
In the viral video, Imran delivered a vicious bouncer to the batter. The video was posted on X (former Twitter) by Nibraz Ramzan and has garnered 376.2k views

Capital Development Authority (CDA) increased the fare of green, orange and blue line buses in Islamabad as inflation has hit the transport sector.

According to CDA officials, the fare of all the buses have been increased from 30 to 50 rupees.

The fare from N5 to Islamabad has been increased from 50 to 90 rupees.

The Sino-Pak joint annual air exercise Shaheen-X has commenced in the Jiuquan and Yinchuan cities of Northwest China. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF)’s lead fighter aircraft J-10 C and JF-17 are participating in the exercise along with air and ground crew.

The People’s Liberation Army Air Force and Pakistan Air Force have been conducting Shaheen joint exercises since 2011 which are being hosted by both countries on an alternate basis, a PAF news release said.

The premier issued these directives while chairing a high level meeting on Pakistan International Airlines in Islamabad.

During the meeting, he directed the PIA administration and the aviation division to work day and night to improve the performance of the national flag carrier.

The prime minister was given a detailed briefing on the PIA. The meeting was informed that the recent amendment in PIA Act 2016 has paved the way for restructuring of the national flag carrier.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's ODI World Cup 2023 trophy has reached Pakistan for a three-day tour filled with iconic moments, and engaging activities, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday.

“The ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 Trophy, one of the most coveted prizes in the world of cricket, touched down in Lahore on 4 September and is scheduled to depart on 6 September,” the PCB stated.

The trophy began its tour in India, the host of the tournament, on June 27. Prior to coming to Pakistan, it has travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the United States, West Indies, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, France and England.

The World Cup trophy was supposed to be in Pakistan for five days from July 31 to August 4. However, it was delayed since there were question marks over Pakistan’s participation in the tournament.

The Sindh caretaker government announced a holiday on September 7 (Thursday) in connection with Chehlum of Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (RA).

The provincial authorities also announced the closure of all private and government schools on September 7 in the region. The steering committee of School education department decided on a holiday after the meeting.

Security has been beefed up in Sindh, and parts of the country while a stern plan has formed for the mourning processions and Majalis to be held across the province on the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

As the government mulling all options to provide relief in electricity bills, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) rejected the proposal for any tariff adjustment or provision of additional subsidy despite the authorities claim that their collection of bills for August had reached close to the expectations.

Amid the IMF’s serious objections to the government’s proposal to provide relief to the poor people against the inflated power bills, Pakistan has requested the global lender to allow the staggering of upcoming quarterly tariff adjustments (QTAs) and Fuel Price Adjustments (FPAs) of Rs7.50 per unit over the next four to six months.

Amid nationwide protests over inflated electricity bills, the caretaker government has reportedly chalked out a plan to provide relief to the power consumers.

According to reports, the interim government has decided to provide relief of Rs 3000 to consumers using up to 300 units in October’s electricity bills.

Likewise, the sources said power consumers whose electricity bills are of Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000, will benefit from a reduction of Rs 13,000.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday approved a petition for hearing, seeking judicial commission to probe recent violent incidents in Jaranwala against Christians.

The high court issued notices to Punjab government and other respondents for September 11.

The bench also directed the Assistant Advocate General to submit report. A petition filed by Shehbaz Soraya Advocate and another by the Grace Bible Fellowship Church had earlier said that over 600 people were involved in vandalizing and violence against Christian citizens and pleaded for a judicial probe of the Jaranwala incidents on August 17.

Milk vendors across the metropolis have announced the suspension of milk purchases, following the tensions escalating between milk sellers and dairy farm owners.

As per the details, the milk vendors ‘in protest’ announced to suspend the milk procurement from Monday [Today] as the price hike decision – which was delayed on July 01 by the milk sellers and dairy farm owners – is not being reversed.

last week, the Karachi Milk Retailers Welfare Association announced to close the sale points across the metropolis from Monday for an indefinite period for demanding a price hike.
