Youth Eye, Citizen Journalist is a community based media initiative by the US Alumni from Hunza valley, Gilgit Baltistan to impart visual communication skills among youth (girls and boys) in Hunza. The project is among the winners of AEIF 2013 Global Competition supported by Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Project has provided specialized training to proactive youth on Citizen Journali
sm and documentary storytelling. Youth Eye is a platform for self expression and the media content produced by young citizen journalist will shape and amplify youth opinion. The overall goal of the project is to provide access to means of visual communication to the local communities of Hunza valley (Gilgit Baltistan), who do not have access to mainstream media and to provide training to local youth on citizen journalism. During the project a number of 45 proactive youth (Girls and Boys) of Karimabad, Altit and Hyderabad Hunza Valley were directly trained on different trades related to citizen Journalism. The trained young citizen journalists are now producing local media content and disseminate it through social media as well as through local cable TV network.
