Pakistan’s Pakeeza Khan and Asra Gul secured gold medals by winning their respective contests during the first day matches of ten junior category competitions of the ongoing Combaxx 4th Asian Open International Taekwondo Championship (G2)” being organized by Pakistan Taekwondo Federation at Liaquat Gymnasium of Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.

In the -63 kg women's category, Pakistan's Pakeeza Khan secured a gold medal, outplaying compatriot Nuzra Jamal from Pakistan 2-0 in a one-sided game.
In the -55 kg women's category, Pakistan's Arsa Gul also fetched a gold medal comprehensively beating compatriot Ajwa Nadeem from Pakistan 2-0.
In the -49kg women's category, Bahrain's Yara Binthani won gold by overcoming Pakistan’s Aiman Khan 2-1.

In the -63kg Male category, Omer Ismail from UAE athlete beat Muhammad Muath from Bahrain by 2-0.
Athletes from the host Pakistan, Oman, Egypt, Iran, Nepal and other countries competed during the first day’s contests and it was a blissful day as the athletes presented remarkable performances.

Pakistan Taekwondo Federation President Col (retd) Waseem Ahmed Janjua, along with PTF CEO Omar Saeed and Pakistan Head Coach Yousef Karami, distributed medals among the athletes at Liaquat Gymnasium.

Pakistani boxer Usman Wazeer won the WBO Youth World title in Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday.

The Astore-born defeated Thailand’s Somphot Seesa in the bout through a technical knockout in the sixth round. With the win, Wazeer has extended his undefeated professional boxing record to 9-0. The 22-year-old has already clinched WBA Asia welterweight title, ABF Asian title and World Boxing Council’s Middle East title in the past. “It is the biggest fight of my career. It is an honour for me to qualify for the World Youth title fight,” Wazeer had stated before the match.

Wazeer was not the only Pakistan boxer who won today as Shoaib Khan registered victory by technical knockout in 6 RDS Lightweight Bout against Thailand’s Sornram Sopakul in Bangkok.

Pakistan’s young taekwondo player Ayesha Ayaz clinched gold and a silver medal in the ongoing Taekwondo International Championship in Thailand.

With the astounding feat, 11-year-old Ayesha became the first Pakistani female athlete to win two golds, a silver and a bronze in international Taekwondo competitions.

Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) president Lt Col Waseem Ahmed Janjua and secretary Murtaza Hassan Bangash congratulated the young athlete on her remarkable victory, saying that Ayesha is an asset to the country and she will make the country even more proud in the future.
