One and a half year since you started Occupational Therapy for your Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
From knowing only letter A to singing the entire ABCs.
Counting from 1 to 5, then counting from 1 to 10, and back again.
From humming sounds we couldn't understand to singing nursery rhymes in tune but lyrics nevermind. 😅

Exploring more adventure. Learning slowly with progress is okay.

“Your speed doesn’t matter, forward is forward.”

Progress is progress, no matter how small.
It’s more than okay to do things when you are ready and on your own time. 😊

❤️And, small amounts of progress, over time, add up to a large amount of progress.

WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS AUTISM...

1. Learn about autism. Educate yourself about the treatment options, ask questions, and participate in all treatment decisions.

2. Become an expert on your child. Figure out what triggers your kid's challenging or disruptive behaviors and what elicits a positive response.

3. Accept your child. Feeling unconditionally loved and accepted will help your child more than anything else.

4. Don't give up. Don't jump to conclusions about what life is going to be like for your child. Like everyone else, people with autism have an entire lifetime to grow and develop their abilities.
