ICAS de Calarian commemorates the Literary Arts competition, joining together as one to showcase talents and passion. In this memorable event, one another are encouraged and invited to showcase their talent in many ways. Wherein, individuals from different types of grade level, from elementary to senior high school show their love and passion for certain aspects of talent. Their skills and determination were incredibly shown in the most impressive and dominant way from the individual elocution of the specific representative from each section. To the amazing collaboration of students when it came to Speech Choir.

A Recreational Speech challenge that tested everyone’s capability of generating a full, understandable explanation of their opinions and speeches about a certain hashtag or topic that they picked, that would leave young individuals feeling inspired and would also help them understand the meaning of context of these certain topics. Representatives from each section also expressed their love for singing in the Vocal Solo competition, and then was followed by the Choral singing wherein a bunch of groups from sections would strive for the best. And then was ended by the different types of strand in the Senior High School department with their coordination and collaboration in making original and creative dance movements.

Zamboanga City rises to the occasion as it proudly represents Region IX in basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, and chess at this year’s 2024 REGIONAL CEAP GAMES at Saint Columban College, Pagadian City sports competition!

Out of all the cities and municipalities in Region IX, Zamboanga City has earned the honor of representing these key sports. Zamboangueños are beaming with pride as their athletes undergo intense training, pushing themselves to their limits in pursuit of excellence. Their unwavering dedication and determination embody the city's spirit of resilience and relentless drive for success.

Let us come together to rally behind our teams and give them the unwavering support they deserve!

Archbishop Leads Mass at ICAS de Calarian

ICAS de Calarian welcomed a spiritual mass as the Archbishop of Zamboanga City, Most. Rev. Julius S. Tonel,D.D.

The ICAS community gathered to experience this solemn event on November 6, 2024, held at the school's gymnasium creating a sacred atmosphere filled with prayers and joyful hymns.

In his homily, the Archbishop delivered an inspiring message centered on appreciating the virtue of listening and that hope can only wear with patience. He emphasized that true listening goes beyond hearing words, it requires empathy, understanding, and an open heart. He reminded everyone that Jesus is the King of the Universe and Mary is our Mother of the Church. He emphasized that hope is never without challenges, saying, "There's always testing, suffering, and trials. Hope cannot be something that is in a pattern. You have to work for it; you struggle to do better so that you can actively participate in the will of God for you."

The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of listening with open hearts and embracing hope amidst challenges. It left the ICAS gathering spiritually enriched and inspired to continue their journey of faith with trust and perseverance.

Fun at ICAS de Calarian's Family Day

ICAS de Calarian celebrated Family Day bringing together learners, parents, teachers, and SPTA officers who organized this unforgettable event.

Held on November 30, 2024, the event began with a solemn holy mass presided over by Fr. Elmer Sumile. The students' families and relatives gathered in prayer, setting a heartfelt tone for the celebration.

After the mass, students and parents enjoyed a shared meal inside their classrooms, spending quality time together and creating special memories. In the afternoon, excitement filled the air with the much-anticipated BINGO Social. Families cheered as they played for various prizes, including grocery items, rice, kitchen appliances, and a brand-new television as the grand prize.

The day was filled with fun, faith, and fellowship, making a souvenir in their hearts and minds highlighting the unity and strong bond within the ICAS de Calarian community.

Let's cherish these moments and continue to foster a strong and supportive community.

Dominating the court: ICAS DC emerged victorious with an impressive performance

ICAS dc men’s basketball team flew off as they earned more victory in the CEAP competition against pilar college on November 30, 2024, held at Ateneo de Zamboanga Salvador campus. Both teams are ready to be facing each other again as they battle it out to bring more victory in the competition.

ICAS DC and Pilar put in a hustle play, not letting the opposing team take the lead as they keep exchanging baskets and scoring basket after basket. Both teams steeled themselves to earn their first win in the competition, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats as they are anticipating who will emerge victorious in the marvelous match.

Both teams showed a breathtaking performance as both teams are in the zone playing the match. Zion Solon of ICAS DC led the way to victory to its team and ICAS DC as he was able score an amazing 3-point basket during the remaining 5 seconds of the game, scoring a 61-59 win.

Cheers and acclaim reverberated across the arena as the fierce rivalry thrilled the audience at the Ateneo de Zamboanga gymnasium. The victory was significant for ICAS DC, displaying their determination to give recognition to their abilities and to be able put ICAS on the spotlight it deserves.

Heartbreak on the Court: ICAS DC MVT Falls Short in an Extraordinary Match against ADZU MVT
On November 30,2024 ICAS MVT and Ateneo de Zamboanga met again in the stage of CEAP competition held at Ateneo de Zamboanga La Purisima, the audience are excited to witness as both teams will be facing once again.

In the first set the audience can feel the heat between the two teams as both teams are neck and neck as both teams go point for point but ICAS pulled all the stops and was able to serve up a 25-21 win.

ADZU turned the tables in the second set as they were able to make a comeback taking the second set leaving the score at 26-24 taking the game to a third set.

The third set the audience were electrified ADZU was able to pull a landslide 15-5 win against leaving ICAS DC dead in the waters.

The ICAS community was devastated but they are still proud of the men’s volleyball match as they were able to keep up with ADZU and was able to raise the banner of ICAS DC in the stage of CEAP competition.

• 🏐 Volleyball Boys: Despite a tough match against Claret, ICAS Calarian bounced back with a thrilling win over ICAS Tetuan! 💪🔥

• 🏀 Basketball: ICAS de Calarian dominated the court, defeating Pilar College with a score of 57-52! 🎉👏

• 🏀 Basketball: Another amazing victory! ICAS de Calarian outplayed ADZU with an impressive score of 87-58! 🔥💙

Comprehensive Astronomical and Environmental Awareness Program in ICAS de Calarian

Last Friday, November 22, 2024, the Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School de Calarian (ICAS de Calarian) together with the Jhanyro Events Management Services (JEMS), and Young Discoverer Society Club (YDS) conducted a Comprehensive Astronomical and Environmental Awareness Program, at the campus.

This program aims to promote awareness of Environment, Climate Change, Astronomy, and Space through engaging and modern teaching methodologies such as the Planetarium wherein the students can have the experience of what it feels venturing into space.

In addition, the 3D film viewing about climate change teaches us about climate change by offering realistic visualizations of its impacts on the planet. It allows viewers to see rising sea levels, melting glaciers, or extreme weather events in vivid detail, making the effects more immersive.

Consequently, the Jhanyro Events Management Services (JEMS) also brought different interactive scientific tools, gadgets, artworks, printed materials, and machines that provoked the students to experience the beauty of science inside the the campus.

With the help from members of YDS club, as well as the Elementary, JHS, and SHS faculty facilitating all throughout the day, the event was deemed as succesful, and the students experienced what it feels like going to the wild, even in the void of emptiness to see its hidden beauty, in just a few minutes. In events like this, the students can feel, see, and learn the beauty of science, all while having fun.
