Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease caused by spirochete bacteria of the genus Leptospira. It is commonly transmitted to humans through contact with water, soil, or food that has been contaminated by the urine of infected animals. Symptoms can include high fever, muscle aches, headache, vomiting, and jaundice. In some cases, the disease can lead to more severe clinical signs and even death. Prevention of leptospirosis is crucial for both disrupting the transmission cycle and preventing an increase in disease rates.
