It's deeply disgusting to witness the CATANDUNGANON YOUTH CONVERGENCE 2024, an event meant to empower and educate the youth, being shamelessly hijacked for the self-serving political aspirations of University President Patrick ASSanza. Instead of fostering critical thinking and independent thought among students, ASSanza has chosen to abuse his authority by subjecting them to a two-hour session of mind-conditioning thinly veiled as education.

What's more appalling is ASSanza’s audacity to use the university as a mere stepping stone for his political agenda. By exploiting his position of influence, he not only betrays the trust of the academic community but also undermines the very essence of education itself. Universities are meant to be bastions of knowledge and enlightenment, not arenas for the manipulation of young minds in service of personal ambition.

ASSanza’s decision to cling onto his university presidency while pursuing political office reeks of selfishness and disregard for ethical boundaries. If he truly considers himself a public servant, he would have had the decency to resign from his academic post before delving into the murky waters of politics. His blatant disregard for the principles of integrity and accountability tarnishes the reputation of the university and erodes the trust of students, faculty, and the community at large.

In a society where integrity and ethical conduct are increasingly rare commodities, ASSanza’s actions serve as a stark reminder of the moral decay that plagues our institutions. It's a disgraceful display of opportunism and self-interest, and it is a disservice to the noble pursuit of education and the greater good of society. Assanza's legacy will forever be tainted by his insatiable thirst for power and his willingness to sacrifice the integrity of the academic institution for personal gain.
