209K Cash Assistance for Typhoon Kristine Victims in Villaba.

Villaba, Leyte – Ang Local Government Unit of Villaba, Leyte pinaagi sa pagmangulo ni Engr. Carlos “Lito” G. Veloso, Municipal Mayor, uban sa pakigtambayayong sa Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, nga girepresentahan ni Mr. Felix Albaño Jr, ug ang mga konsehales sa lungsod sa Villaba, Leyte, nag apud-apod ug salapi-hinabang ngadto sa mga naapektohan sa miaging Bagyong Kristine nga nikuso-kuso sa pipila ka mga kabablayan sa Villaba, Leyte adtong miaging Oktobre 21, 2024.

Niabot sa kantidad nga PhP 209,000.00 ang gipanghatag didto sa New Municipal Building, Villaba, Leyte, alang sa mga biktima sa bagyo.

Alang sa mga partially damage ang mga balay, nakadawat ang mga biktima ug tag tres mil pesos, samtang ang mga totally damage ang mga pinuy-anan, nakadawat sila ug tag dyes mil pesos.

Mapasalamaton ang mga nakadawat sa hinabang alang sa pagpaayo sa ilang mga naguba nga mga balay atol sa Bagyong Kristine.

Legislative Building Blessing and LGU Christmas Party

Villaba, Leyte - Pormal nang giablihan ug gipanalanginan ni Rev. Fr. Isagani Petilos, ang Villaba New Legislative Building sa Sitio Cayangian, Brgy. Pob. Del Norte, Villaba, Leyte karong adlawa.

Nahimugso ang pagtukod sa maong imprastraktura agi'g paningkamot ni Congresswoman Anna Victoria Veloso-Tuazon, Mayor Carlos 'Lito' Veloso, Vice-Mayor Dennis Sy ug uban pang mga opisyales sa lungsod.

Gipahigayon usab ang Turn-Over Ceremony sa maong proyekto pinaagi kang Engr. Cesar Makabenta, District Engineer, 3rd Leyte Engineering District, ngadto sa Sangguniang Bayan sa Villaba pinaagi kang Vice-Mayor Dennis Sy uban ang mga konsehales sa lungsod.

Gitambungan usab ang maong aktibidad ni Former Congressman "Ching" Veloso.

Leyte Provincial Meet Kicks Off in Tacloban City: District 3 Shines with Full Support from Veloso Sisters

Tacloban City— The Leyte Provincial Meet opened with much fanfare today, December 9, 2024, at the Leyte Sports Center in Tacloban City.

Leyte 3rd District Board Member Marie Kathryn "Chinggay" Veloso Kabigting attended the event to express her unwavering support for the athletes of District 3, who are competing for spots in the prestigious Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) games and other national competitions, such as Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy.

Kabigting proudly announced that her sister, Congresswoman Atty. Anna Victoria Veloso-Tuazon, had sponsored a complete set of uniforms for all 709 athletes from District 3.

"This is a collective effort to empower our young athletes and ensure they represent our district with pride," Kabigting said.

The provincial meet serves as a critical step in Leyte's sports program, where the province’s five districts compete to form the Leyte team that will face off against other provinces and cities in Region 8 during the EVRAA games. At the district level, local government units (LGUs) and mayors provide primary support for their municipalities’ athletes. At the provincial level, congressmen take on the responsibility of supporting district contingents.

However, the event highlighted disparities in support across districts. While District 3 athletes benefited from full sponsorship, some athletes from the 4th District reportedly faced challenges due to insufficient funding.

In such cases, parents and teachers from the Department of Education have stepped in to cover expenses, which can cost upwards of Php 1.3 million for a 500-athlete contingent for 4 days.

The venue, equipment, and other logistical needs for the 2024 Leyte Provincial Meet were sponsored by the Provincial Government of Leyte through Governor Carlos Jericho “Icot” L. Petilla. During the opening ceremony, he was represented by Provincial Administrator Cora Alvero.

The Leyte Provincial Meet remains a key platform for fostering athletic excellence, with Governor Petilla expected to extend his support to the provincial team heading into the EVRAA games. However, the ongoing challenges faced by underfunded athletes underscore the need for equitable support across all districts to ensure a level playing field.

As the games progress, all eyes are on District 3, whose robust preparation and support could set the tone for this year's competition.

Sa atong pagsaulog sa kapaskuhan, naningkamot ang Local Government Unit sa Villaba nga panindoton ang atong pinalanggang lungsod pinaagi sa makalipay ug maanindot nga mga dekorasyon. Ang mga dekorasyong kini gituyo aron maghatag og kasadya sa atong palibot aron malingaw ang mga pamilya ug bisita nga moduaw sa Villaba.

Apan sa walay pagtagad sa atong tinguha nga magpabiling matahum ug maanindot ang atong lugar aduna gihapo’y wala mahiuyon ani nga kolektibong tinguha. Kagabii, nakita nga ang uban nga bahin sa mga Christmas Light nangadaut ug nangaputol, nasuta usab nga limpyo ang pagkaputol niani, nga nagpasabot nga kini gibuhat ug tuyo.

Kini nga insidente usa ka pahinumdom nga kita tanan adunay responsibilidad nga ampingan ang mga pampublikong lugar ug mga inisyatibo nga naghiusa sa atong komunidad. Magtinabangay kita sa pagpanalipod ug pagpreserba sa katahom sa atong lungsod aron magpabilin kini nga tinubdan sa garbo ug kalipay alang sa tanan.

Ang LGU -Villaba magpasalig nga aduna nay mga lakang nga gihimo aron matino kung kinsa ang responsable niining dili maayong hitabo. Hinaut nga kini magsilbing pahinumdom sa tanan nga magpakabana ug magrespeto sa mga lugar ug paningkamot nga naghiusa sa atong komunidad.
