Dr. Kent Vicente's remarkable feat of securing a top-three position in the 2022 Veterinarian Licensure Exam (VLE) stands as an enduring testament to the towering peaks that can be fulfilled through relentless effort, unwavering resilience, and an unyielding commitment to the pursuit of excellence. To cast a radiant light on the road to success, Dr. Kent, who conquered and topped his board exams, shares a wealth of insights and advice with future VLE takers.

When asked what his preparations were before taking the board exam, Dr. Kent emphasized the significance of crafting a well-structured study plan. According to him, understanding the syllabus thoroughly and recognizing areas of strength and weakness is paramount. By managing time and resources effectively, one can optimize their preparation and focus on key subject matter.

"I tried sticking to a routine. I would tire myself out during the day by doing study sessions, then taking breaks in between, or when I started to feel fatigued. On some days I rested to clear my thoughts. Spending time with my family and friends helped me reduce my worries."

Moreover, Dr. Kent underlines the significance of maintaining a positive outlook. He passionately encouraged VLE takers to cultivate a mindset filled with optimism, placing emphasis on their ongoing progress rather than becoming entangled in the setbacks encountered along the way.

"Only focus on what's in your control—how you study, how you answer. Beyond that is outside our control, including the VLE results. Love your fate, pass or fail.”

Dr. Kent's insight presents a compelling narrative of the path to success, which is marked by comprehensive preparation, a balanced outlook on life, a supportive community, and an unwavering faith in one's skills. Flavio A. Nava, a Veterinary Medicine student at Aklan State University, volunteered as one of the investigators of Nabas Power Project Phase 2, which calls to preserve and conserve the Northwest Panay Peninsula Natural Park (NPPNP).

The position paper, which was published in September 2023, calls for help in assessing the environmental impact of such project on protected areas of NPPNP.

The investigation leads to observation of the project's potential to wreak havoc on water potability not only in the entire municipality of Malay, but also the indispensable needs of Boracay Island, imperiling their access to clean and sustainable water resources.

Furthermore, the investigation results show that the project poses threats to birdlife, plant species, wildlife, and 'beyond animal' harm.

Nava said that the quality of the results is a product of work not motivated by money, but by individuals like him who volunteered to help in seeking action.

More than that, Nava showcased the photos taken from the biodiversity survey they conducted at Barangay Napaan, Malay, Aklan.

"I want to share the results with all of you, to show a sample of the biodiversity that exists in a small part of Panay Island, which the habitat is now under threats," Nava said in his Facebook post.

The said investigation seeks immediate stoppage of the project, revocation of the project's endorsements, a comprehensive review from DENR VI in the rivers and watersheds of Napaan and Nabaoy, and accountability to inflicted irreversible damages to the said area.
