EMBRACING NEW IDEAS IN ONLINE CLASS
by: DARLYN KAYE U. AYCARDO

Meaningful experiences convey a lot of challenges to pursue education accompanied any undertakings that enlighten and awaken everyone in this time of pandemic.
Whatever is happening in the country, whatever challenges we are facing, “education must continue”. We continue with the process so we can give hope and continuity, and contribute to the normalization of activities in the country, according to Sec. Leonor Magtolis Briones.
This pandemic brought negative attributes and points of view to a lot of people on how to handle and cope up with the effects that may bring it to their lives specifically in education. Worries and doubts of the parents were heard whether their children will continue schooling or not. Safety and assurance of health are the utmost priority to be considered that’s why face-to-face classes were suspended.
Our school is in-depth prioritizing everyone’s safety and assurance in dealing with the teaching and learning process in this new normal. As part of BE- LCP made by the school, different learning modalities are laid out wherein the parents are free to choose what they want to hold on to. Modular distance learning Most of the parents chose modular distance learning that will stand for the whole duration of schooling. But teachers’ willingness to teach and extend help to pupils to be able to learn is undeniably their main consideration. Teachers conducted online classes in different learning areas via googlemeet with due respect to allotted time exerted by the pupils and the supported parents. Excitement and desire to learn can be seen on the faces of the pupils and active participation portrayed by every pupil strengthen and implied positivity to the teachers.
Teaching virtually is not easy because of such struggles and problems encountered by the teachers, hence everything that happens is totally out of control. Such difficulties encountered were lack of access or poor internet connection, lack of gadgets, unavailability of the parents to accompany their child to attend, lack of communication to parents, distractions and time management, etc. Virtual learning environment dictates the essence of hope and perseverance to continue to ponder educating the child and inculcate the values we intended to perceive by our pupils. All of these things will not hinder and can prevent us to soar high and pursue the excellence of learning all of us aiming for our learners. Fortunately, despite these struggles, the academic performance of the pupils was improved and enhanced.
Virtual learning environment serves as a bridge to uplift the learning and educative process with the aid of technology. Looking forward to the next school year will be the better educative learning for each individual in our society

EVOLUTION: THE COVID SAGA
by: LIANNE FAYE M. MAGADIA

“Ignorance is a virus. Once it starts spreading, it can only be cured by reason. For the sake of humanity, we must be that cure”, said Neil deGrasse Tyson.
The COVID- 19 virus alarmed a lot of people, a life-changing process undergoes restrictions and limitations to keep ourselves, our families, and our community safe. Different evolutions of virus like Delta, Gamma, Beta, and Alpha has constantly spread out and has emerged and even cause death to a lot of people around the world. Our country is not yet recovered from the battle brought about by the pandemic but another coronavirus variant has emerged and evolved that might suffer again the opportunities for the people to survive with utmost peace. The Omicron variant is the latest virus evolved and affects humans.
The Omicron variant is a variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. It was first reported to the World Health Organization from South Africa on 24 November 2021. On 26 November 2021, the WHO designated it as a variant of concern and named it after omicron, the fifteenth letter in the Greek alphabet.

WHO warns that the virus could soon be present in every country around the world, further prolonging the pandemic, endangering people’s life and responsible human being. Some countries have enacted travel bans from southern Africa, and applied strict compliance to the rules of safety and health protocols. Omicron causes more severe disease compared to infections with other variants, including Delta.
As a result of Omicron, many nations that were already suffering from soaring numbers of Covid-19 cases caused by the Delta variant have imposed new lockdown measures and travel restrictions.
New variants like Omicron are a reminder that the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over. It is essential that people get vaccinated and continue to follow advice on preventing the spread of the virus, including physical distancing, wearing masks, regular hand washing, and keeping indoor areas well ventilated. RESURRECTION
by: KAYA L. MAGADIA

Rest does not necessarily means death, but gathering strength to start a fresh new chapter of uncovering stories, highlighting new trends and sharing wisdom to its community as a foundation for a better future.

THE PAST
School publications were been part of the academic foundation of pupils who became components and staff of the publication every year. In 1996, when campus journalism heightened and became part of the public school curricular activities, it gave birth to “The Leaderette” and “Ang Daloy” as the official school publication of Tinga Labac Elementary School.
“It was called ‘tapal dyaryo’,” said by Mrs. Marites C. Patal, a former school paper adviser of Tinga Labac. “That time our news were written in a bond paper, you’re going to cut that piece where the news was written and paste it on the manila paper. We have no cameras, so the picture was drawn and colored by the pupils,” she added.
The publication runs for three consecutive years but due to lack of funds, conflict of training time to other academic contest and activities, maintaining two publications became difficult. Thus, the school decided to discontinue the publishing of “The Leaderette” but continued the “Ang Daloy”.

THE PRESENT
As the pandemic hits the country and the education system changes, the online platform became an active part of reaching the pupils. Bringing education to their household virtually. Adopting to the changes and challenges, the campus journalism evolve into a new different phase to uplift and gave birth to an innovative system of student publication.
This development finally gave chance to breathe a new life to the long-standing publication. It took 22 years for this publication to be revived, with a new face, strength and feature. “The Leaderette” as part of the official English on-line publication of Tinga Labac Elementary School.

THE FUTURE
The dawning of the new publication promises new hope and strong point for the campus journalism at Tinga Labac as it provides new opportunity for student journalists to hone their skills, knowledge, personality and academic excellence. It can create positive views, ideals and attitudes which can help pupils to become a better part of the community in building a better future.

Face it or Leave it: Are you ready for F2F Classes?

Since the pandemic began, it has been difficult for everyone. The rise of positive cases in the Philippines has had an impact on education. This notion has never been put to the test more than it has been in this pandemic, where a generation of youngsters has been compelled to go to school without going to school.
Both students and professors struggled at first to acclimate to the new setup, but as time goes on, everyone is gradually becoming accustomed to the new way of learning. But, in the middle of the Covid-19 virus's new variant's outbreak, are we really ready to reopen the schools?
On-the-ground reports of pilot testing have been implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd) in certain of the country's public schools. As per sources, students, as well as instructors and other faculty members, are quite thrilled by reopening the school. The safety precautions are still being thought about and adhered to. However, reports of a delayed pilot running in one of the public schools in Zambales due to teachers who tested positive for the virus raise questions about whether they will continue to open the schools.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, on the other hand, has granted the Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) proposal to expand restricted face-to-face sessions to degree programs in higher education institutions (HEIs) that require hands-on experience under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). In addition, CHED previously indicated that it will allow 50 percent capacity face-to-face sessions in places under Alert Level 2 such as Metro Manila if professors and students are completely vaccinated and consent from the individual local government unit (LGU) is obtained.
Following a considerable decrease in coronavirus transmission, similar systems have been used in numerous nations where on-site classroom learning has resumed. However, due to a new wave of COVID cases, some countries have had to suspend courses again in recent weeks. DepEd and CHED should keep an eye on this to ensure the safety of its students and faculty members, especially as the new virus variant spreads. Face-to-face classes are still prohibited, so the government must come up with new strategies to promote safe and inclusive learning. It is also necessary to adhere to health protocols and maintain vaccinations for students and professors while preparing for the return of face-to-face classes.

Rise of the ‘Ang Daloy’:
Launching of Project REACTS for the Student Journalists of TLES
By: Ouidhielle Margot M. Manalo

“You must remember that writing is as important as reading and journalism is a great stepping stone for pupils like you to reach academic achievement” these were the strong words uttered by Dr. Demetrio B. Bautista, EPSvr in Filipino, in the launching of Project REACTS (Reinforcing Essential Ability in Campus Journalism Targeted Skills) in response to the new mode of learning to strengthen students' skills and knowledge through Campus Journalism, November 25.
Project REACTS was launched with the participation of various Division Subject Heads, as well as aspiring journalists, students, and school faculty of Tinga Labac Elementary School.
The stated project's goals included strengthening students' growth in the development of ethical values, critical and creative thinking, and developing moral character and personal discipline among students through Campus Journalism, encouraging students to write, enabling teachers and students to participate as school journalism advisors, and instilling basic campus journalism skills for future advancements.
Ms. Aclan discussed the objectives and events that will occur during the Project's duration during the formal orientation.
"Ang focus natin dito ay mga teachers at mga bata, matulungan ang mga bata na mapalawak ang kanilang kaalaman sa pagsulat," she continued.
She also sought guidance from parents and teachers in order for them to assist students in learning the fundamentals of writing and educating them on how to become effective journalists at a young age.
“Covid-19 pandemic doesn’t hinder us from doing great things for our services but offers us chances to collaborate and help each other to continue educating our learners despite the absence of face-to-face classes,” said Ms. Marife D. Frane, the Principal of the school, as she shows her support in the said program launching.
Along with the Principal, the Teachers Association President, Ms. Lizbeth M. Ebora, PTA President, Ms. Emma Magtibay, the EPS in Filipino, Dr. Demetrio Bautista, EPS in English, Dr. Leila M. Seco, the PSDS, Ms. Edelyn Briones, and the Brgy. Chairperson, Ms. Meriam Catapang, offer their support for the success of the Project REACTS.
