𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Fun and excitement continued to fill the various venues as different activities unfolded during today's PSME Day celebration.

Thrill echoed through the COM Covered Court as students eagerly awaited the numbers on their cards in the Bingo game. Winners received school supplies such as bond paper, light pads, and Karce calculators.

Meanwhile, five teams competed in various challenges in the AMEzing Race, with instructors joining in the fun as casual participants.

At the same time, Mobile Legends, Block Blast, and Bridge Building tournaments took place in different rooms of the COE Building.

Afterwards, winners from the day's activities were awarded and recognized in the awarding ceremony.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) students gathered at the COM Covered Court as the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Day kicked off with an opening program today, February 6, 2025.

Dr. Lorenzo L. Bacani, COE Dean, Engr. Julius Raul C. Sampaga, OIC Chairperson of the ME Department, together with the other ME faculties also graced the event.

Meanwhile, Dean's Listers, Rising Star students, First Semester Captains, and partners were awarded and recognized for their leadership, achievements, and support.

With the theme, "SYNERGY IN MOTION: Gearing for a Prosperous Future, Fueled by Unity and Collaboration,"
the PSME-Student Unit organized the event, which was headed by Engr. Lovely N. Pimentel, JPSME Adviser.

𝗗𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝘇𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘀 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴

Third-year Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) student and The Engineering Updates senior correspondent Dodie Jose V. De Guzman won the top prize in the Create Your Content: Picture Tayo Photography Competition, an initiative of the City Government of San Fernando, La Union.

The winners were announced on December 14, with De Guzman's entry taking first place among the ten submitted entries. His winning entry features three photographs in line with the theme, "City of San Fernando, La Union as a Creative City of Media Arts."

As explained in the Facebook post by the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, the entries illustrate heartfelt moments of connection and creativity, focusing on the joy of photography and bonds. A father’s candid shot of his son highlights his eagerness to preserve memories, while a boy and his friend share their passion for photography, strengthening their friendship. Meanwhile, another boy captures the magic of Pasko sa Kapitolyo with his younger sibling on his shoulders, proving that documenting life's simple joys doesn't require expensive tools. Together, these pictures celebrate relationships and the beauty of everyday moments.

De Guzman, as a photojournalist himself, explained that capturing images has been more than just a profession for him; it's a way of preserving stories and emotions.

"Photography has always held a special place in my heart, especially after being a part of school journalism. Through the lens of a camera, we can capture moments that words often can't fully express," he said.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | As a reward for their accomplishments in various fields while bringing pride and honor to the university, faculty and students from the College of Engineering were recognized and awarded during the 44th Foundation Anniversary Campus Awards and Recognition program held at MLUC Covered Court on January 14, 2025.

Meanwhile, faculty and staff of the college had the opportunity to take a break from their workloads as they enjoyed the different activities at the Faculty Association and Nonteaching Association (FANTA) Day at the COM Covered Court on the same day.

𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛: The winning performance of the COE Band during the 44th Founding Anniversary Battle of the Bands as they performed a rendition of the songs entitled You Give Love a Bad Name, 3019, Tadhana and Bulag P**i, at Bingi.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Battling their way to the top, the College of Engineering Band made a resounding win in the 44th DMMMSU Founding Anniversary Battle of the Bands after outshining College of Arts and Sciences and College of Technology, who placed second and third, respectively.

Moreover, the band was composed of Hendrix Lamadrid, Mc Wilson Cayetano, Tristan Frigillana,Francis Ian Corpuz, Jae Czi Cabiladas and Llewelyn Mabutas.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Faculty, students, and staff from the College of Engineering gathered at the MLUC Oval for the first flag raising ceremony held at the campus' oval, January 13.

Afterwards, Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, the Chancellor of MLUC, delivered a message as the university celebrates its 44th year of founding.

Moreover, the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) showcased their talent and discipline in their silent drill performance. This was followed by an impressive drum and lyre presentation by the students of the Basic Education Laboratory Schools and was concluded with the captivating field demonstration of the College of Education (CE) students.
