This is an appreciation post.

Salute to our men in uniform, PNP or AFP, alike.

Many of us are unaware that the PNP/AFP have already been deployed to the different polling centers three days before election day, malayo man o malapit. For election duty, some of them may have to walk and traverse rivers even seas. There is no certainty if someone, in their place of deployment, will offer food and water for three days, so some may need to carry their own provisions with them. To survive the three-day duty, they must be flexible.

Men in uniform may be fathers that needs to leave home, mothers with small children or even lactating moms who must put duty first, or sons and daughters who must leave their old parents for public service. They are no different from us but must put duty first above all others.

One must be vigilant for the success of the elections. To maintain peace, order and security of the people. Yes, it is their job, and they are paid for it. However, no amount of money can compensate their sacrifices for the service of the Filipino people.

May we not forget that our MEN in UNIFORM are humans, too. Let us protect them with our prayers that every single police officer or military officer return to their families safely.

A HEARTBREAKING IMAGE

Seeing various COVID stories on social media is quite heartbreaking. While reviewing the situations in other areas, I saw this picture of a 5-year old COVID-positive child riding an ambulance alone as he fights for his life.

I am praying for his recovery. May this serve as a warning to everyone that the virus does not choose any age or gender. Protect yourselves and your loved ones by following the safety protocols. Please be safe.

SENIORITY

A tradition that highly observed in the AFP, PNP, BFP, BJMP, and other uniform personnel the basis of RHIP principle.

Seniority if understood in a positive thought will lead to a positive output, but if it is understood in a negative thought, it will lead to a negative output. We are all seniors to our junior but we are also junior to our seniors.

There are no permanent rank and permanent designation on this land. So what is seniority if it is not understood well by many.

Seniority is not a passport nor a license to humiliate or insult a junior. It is not an excuse not to perform your duty and above all it is not a reason to abuse authority.

Seniority has its own twin of responsibility, to perform according to your rank and to stand like your rank. The more you level up, your thoughts, discipline, attitude and respect to others should also level up.

Respect your junior and you will be respected more, they have emotions too. Senior should act as a role model not a morale destroyer.

Use seniority to influence others, not to disappoint or discourage juniors instead bring out the best in them. After all, seniors are nothing if there are no juniors supporting below them.
