TAKBO PARA KAY SAN PEDRO 2.0

In 2013, the St. Peter Metropolitan Cathedral Parish launched the first Takbo para kay San Pedro (Fun Run Activity) to help and support the restoration and rehabilitation of the church.

This year, as we all move forward and recover from the effects of the pandemic, the church plays a vital role in helping to restore individual and community wellbeing and build resilience especially for the YOUTH and FAMILY LIFE. The parish revives the Takbo Para Kay San Pedro 2.0 to help in the realization of the different youth and family formation activities of the church.

The event, in partnership with Globe and TM, is slated on December 04, 2022. Join the COLOR FUN RUN and COLOR SPLASH MUSIC FESTIVAL featuring the band DECEMBER AVENUE and many more.

This shall be an outreach and unified strategy to strengthen community engagement, and increase spiritual commitment among us as we run together on a journey to help the church.

DOT Region 2 Kick-starts Philippine Motorcycle Tourism A Regional Initiated Ride in Your Valley of Fun

The DOT R-02 officially kicked-off the Philippine Motorcycle Tourism: A Regional Initiated Ride in the Valley of Fun UP North (FUN) to bring organized motorcycle enthusiasts from the four provinces of Cagayan Valley region namely: Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya today, April 25, 2022.

This said event aims to promote and highlight the major landmark of the different provinces of Isabela and Cagayan in order to re-open and boosts the region's tourism and travel leisure.

The participants will visit identified landmarks and cultural tourist destinations in the valley and will also participate in pilgrimage activities in support of our county's Quincentennial celebration.

Furthermore, The PMT caravan is envisioned to spur inter-regional travel, taking into consideration the New Normal protocols set by the identified and participating municipalities, cities and provinces in the valley.

According to NatGeo, "Wherever waves break, surfers will ride them". The concept is simple—a breaking wave, a board and a brave athlete are all that is needed for the sport. Surfing is the water sport of riding on the top of a wave while standing or lying on a special board.

Nowadays, surfing is one of the most popular and most preferred extreme sports. It is done by riding the waves in the sea or the ocean by standing or lying on a surfboard. This extreme sport, which is thought to have originated in Peru, was a necessity rather than entertainment or a hobby.

And we've seen a lot of surfers whenever we go to the beach where surfing is allowed just like in the Surfing Capital of the Philippines — Siargao; or in the Surfing Capital of Luzon — La Union. And perhaps, you want to try it too. And experience the waves beneath your feet while balancing in the rhythm of the breezing wind of the sea.

If you want to surf, you will require some balance and durability. You should not lose your balance while standing on the surfboard and on the water. Before trying this sport, you should do some basic training that will improve your balance and endurance. You can prepare yourself for this extreme sport by going to surfing courses. When surfing, all you need is a surfboard. When you find the harmony between the sea and the wind, you can easily enjoy surfing.

And the good news part is, you can try this sport without traveling outside the Cagayan Province because Aparri, Cagayan can offer you this kind of activity that you'll surely love!

In this present time, the Aparri Surfing Community is reviving this water sport activity and hoping that the place will soon to be Surfing Spot in Cagayan. Moreover, the community plans to have professional surfing instructors and a bunch of surfboards for the local and foreign tourists who wants to experience this activity.

| Nagsimula sa dalawang surfing board mula sa isang amerikanong turista noong dekada '80 at ipinagpatuloy ng 40-50 local Surfers sa kasalukuyan. Ito ang kuwento ni Erwin Meram, ang presidente ng Aparri Surfing Community at isa sa mga kauna-unahang local surfer sa bayan ng Aparri

Ang surfing ay isang kilalang water sport na nagsimula sa bansang Peru. Gamit ang surfing board, tatayo at magbabalense ang surfer na sasabay sa mga alon habang magpapakitang gilas ito ng mga kakaibang tricks. Ang paglalaro ng surfing ay kinakailangang may hanggang tatlong (3) metrong taas na alon ng dagat. Isa ang Punta Beach sa Bayan ng Aparri dito sa probinsiya ang nakitaan ng mga surfer enthusiasts na may potential spot para sa surfing.

Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy na binubuhay ng komunidad ang larong ito at umaasang magiging susunod na surfing spot sa bansa. Isa sa mga plano ng komunidad ang kanilang pagsasanay upang magkaroon licensed Surfing Instructor para sa mga darayong turista at mga gustong sumubok sa larong ito. Kasama na rin dito ang pagdadagdag pa ng mga surfing boards para sa mga local surfers upang mas mahikayat pa ang mga kabataan sa paglalaro.

Cagayanong atleta sa larangan ng surfing. Ito ang pangarap ng komunidad na isang araw, iwawagayway ang bandila ng Cagayano sa loob at labas ng bansa.
