This land of waterfalls is a captivating retreat at the southwest border of the Sierra Madre, known to hikers as Mt. Romelo. By some mistake that got perpetuated among hikers, the place also used to be called “Famy” after an adjacent town. Nestled in the town of Siniloan in the quiet, eastern side of Laguna province, it is as tropical as mountains can get.

Mt. Romelo is located in Brgy. Macatad in Siniloan, Laguna. It is 3- 4 hours drive from Manila. Standing 300 MASL with a difficulty of 2/9 and an easy trail, definitely good for beginner and an easy chill hiking for an adventure. The terrain is a long, simple but slippery and muddy; it serves as the trail for the hikers, locals and the animals, like horses in transporting local products, like fruits and vegetables.

Mt. Daraitan is a mountain range located along the borders of Tanay, Rizal and General Nakar, Quezon. It was part of the southern range of Sierra Madre. Daraitan came from two words - dara, a local term for limestone and aeta, a Filipino term usually used to describe native people of dark skin.

Mt. Daraitan is a part of the vast ancestral land of the Dumagat tribe and is protected by military as history of insurgencies and armed presence has been reported to this place. However, in general, Daraitan is considered to be safe for hikers.

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

Mt. Ulap is a beautiful and scenic landscape that represents much of what the Cordillera is. Surprisingly a surreal view as well. With grassland summits, pine ridges, and an open view of the other Cordillera mountains, it’s a climb one must have to experience more of the Cordilleras.

Mt. Balagbag has an elevation of approximately 777 metres above sea level and encompasses the provinces of Bulacan and Rizal. Its major jump-off point is located in Sitio Balagbag in Rodriguez, Rizal.
