“Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.”
Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet, 1902-1908.

I think it's a deep consolation to know that spiders dream, that monkeys tease predators, that dolphins have accents, that lions can be scared silly by a lone mongoose, that otters hold hands, and ants bury their dead. That there isn't their life and our life. Nor your life and my life.
That it's just one teetering and endless thread and all of us, all of us, are entangled with it as deep as entanglement goes."

"They will criticize you for what you are, for what you are not, and for what they think you are.
They will judge you for what you do, for what you don't do, and for what you fail to do. They will talk about you for what you say and for what you keep silent about.
They will point at you for your successes and for your mistakes,
for your decisions and for your doubts. No matter how much you try to please, there will always be opinions.
So, live for yourself, because in the end, the only thing that matters is being true to your own path."

When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are.
It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me.
It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost …

THE FISHERMAN AND HIS SON
A Short Moral Story.
A young lad asked his fisherman father,
"Papa, is it okay to tell people about my goals and dreams in life?"
The fisherman was silent for a moment, then asked,
"Why do you want to know that?"
The young lad answered,
"Well, papa, I have many big dreams, really big! I want to be of impact in all areas of life, to my generation and all aspects of life. However, I don't know if I should or shouldn't tell people about these dreams I have."
The fisherman smiled, then said,
"You know what... let's go catch some fish in the river. And then, we will continue this conversation, okay?"
At that moment, the fisherman and his son took their fishing equipment and went fishing. At the river, they put a piece of bait on the hook and casted the fishing rod into the river to catch a fish.
A few hours later, they had already caught a lot of fish and their basket was almost filled. The fisherman then stopped, pointed at the basket, and said to his son,
"Take a look at all these fish in the basket. They've been caught by the hook, and their fate is now different from that of those in the river. These fish have lost everything in their lives; their families, friends and home. Sadly, they will have to suffer and be killed in a gruesome way. Some will be fried, some baked, some berbecued, some grilled, some steamed, etc. Do you know why they have to go through much misfortune?"
The boy thought for a minute, then shook his head and said,
"I don't know, papa. Tell me."
The fisherman took a deep breath, and then whistled,
"Well, it is because they couldn't close their mouths. It is stated that a fish with a closed mouth never gets caught by the hook. It never falls a victim."
Upon saying that, the fisherman patted his son's shoulder, smiled and then continued,
"Son, this is what happens in real life. Many people have failed and lost everything they ever acquired in life because they opened their mouths too wide and told other people about their dreams and plans. A good reason to guard your senses and keep your mouth shut about upcoming projects is that most people do not want to see you succeed. This is a piece of advice to save your plans from being sabotaged by people who envy you. You should never announce your dreams until they are close to completion. Many people will do everything in their power to send a dagger through your chest just to ensure you don't succeed. A closed mouth never gets into trouble. Keep your big move a secret. Move in silence. Take action, and shock people with your results."

"Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
It matters that you don't just give up."

“I’ll ask for a brain instead of a heart,” said the Scarecrow, —“because a fool wouldn’t know what to do with a heart, even if he had one.”
"I'll take the heart," replied the tin man, "because intelligence doesn't make a person happy, and happiness is the most beautiful thing in the world."

Carl Jung’s statement, “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darkness of other people,” touches on the essential theme of self-awareness. Jung believed that to engage meaningfully with others, we must first confront the darker aspects of ourselves—the hidden fears, insecurities, and unresolved issues that shape our reactions and judgments. This process of self-examination allows us to develop empathy.
When we know our own darkness, we recognize that we are imperfect, complex, and subject to struggles. This understanding fosters compassion when we encounter others who are dealing with their own shadows. Instead of reacting with judgment or impatience, we can approach them with kindness, because we know what it is like to face inner conflict.
This insight also helps in avoiding projection. Often, we project our unresolved issues onto others, seeing in them the faults we dislike in ourselves. By becoming aware of our own darkness, we reduce the likelihood of making others the scapegoats for our internal struggles. We accept that everyone carries their own burdens and that the path to understanding begins within.
In essence, Jung’s wisdom reminds us that true empathy and connection with others come from the ongoing work of knowing and accepting the parts of ourselves that we might prefer to ignore.
