𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐂, 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐐𝐔𝐄 - On July 8, 2024, the Marinduque State University (MarSU) , formerly known as the Marinduque State College (MSC), held its 1st university flag raising ceremony and thanksgiving program at the MarSU Boac Campus.

This activity aims to commemorate a significant event for the academe as it transitions to universityhood through RA 11334, otherwise known as an Act Converting the Marinduque State College in the Municipality of Boac, Province of Marinduque into a State University, to be Known as the Marinduque State University, and Appropriating Funds Thereof, authored by 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙅𝙖𝙮 𝙌. 𝙑𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙘𝙤. Present at the said event were students, faculty members, nonteaching personnels and honorable guests.

Moreover, the event highlighted the unveiling of the university's new logo and hymn, which symbolize a new chapter in its journey.

The Marinduque State University (MarSu) - College of Agriculture would like to congratulate the people behind this achivement. This transformation marks a pivotal moment in the history of Marinduque, celebrating the growth and future of Marinduque State University.🌱

The Green Leaf Publication, the official student publication of the Marinduque State College (MSC) - College of Agriculture took part in the first college-wide student publication training-writeshop with the theme "𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑷𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒎". Present in the said activity were three of the Editorial boards, namely Cedric R. Villaruel - News Editor, Jezreel Sam Q. Penarroyo - Layout Artist and Cyra Marie Paez - Photojournalist, along with other publication unit from other colleges.

The participation of the following individuals in the activity proves their commitment,dedication and willingness to serve, to acquire knowledge and improve their skills. This also served as a great opportunity to the publication as they play a major role for the Agriculture community and MSC as well.

The event commenced with a touching moment of gratitude as the esteemed Campus Director, Assoc. Prof. Harvey A. Dulay, and the esteemed College Dean, Assoc. Prof. Marilyn A. Mayores, took the stage to honor the non-teaching personnel of MSC Torrijos. Their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts behind the scenes were recognized and celebrated, emphasizing the profound impact they have on shaping the institution's success.

The Agri Games, a series of exciting competitions that not only showcased MSC Torrijos' agricultural background but also provided entertainment, threw the celebrations into high gear. From the funny "Dress the Farmer" task to the heart-pounding "Sakapan ng Itlog" and the competent "Weanling to Win It," both competitors and people watching delighted in the spirit of good-natured rivalry and friendship.

It came time to present awards to the winners of the Soil Art Contest, Best Agri Product, and Agri Booth Competitions as the sun was setting. The following recipients were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the agricultural landscape, their creativity and originality shining brightly:

Marinduque State College - Torrijos Campus celebrated a significant milestone on April 26, 2024, as it marked its 39th founding anniversary with a series of events showcasing its innovative journey and contributions to the community.

The day commenced with a vibrant parade at 6 am, where students, faculty, and staff proudly displayed their school pride and unity. Following the parade, a thanksgiving mass was held, setting the tone for a day of reflection and gratitude.

The program began with the preliminaries, followed by the opening remarks from Campus Director, Assoc. Prof. Harvey A. Dulay, extending a warm welcome to all guests and attendees.

Hon. Renato R. Pereyra, a renowned alumnus of MSC Torrijos, delivered an inspirational message, sharing his journey and highlighting the importance of education in achieving personal and societal progress. His words resonated deeply with the audience, instilling a sense of pride and motivation among students and staff alike.

Through a video recording, former Administrator of MSC Torrijos, Mr. Nolito B. Ruiz, also shared valuable insights, reflecting on the campus's evolution and the transformative power of education in shaping lives and communities.

A highlight of the anniversary celebration was the ceremonial launching of the Academe, Public, and Private Partnership Cattle Production, symbolizing MSC Torrijos's commitment to industry collaboration and agricultural innovation. Prof. Doreen R. Mascareñas led the event, emphasizing the school's role as a catalyst for economic development and sustainable agriculture.

Inspirational messages were also delivered by esteemed guests, including representatives of Hon. Mayor Lorna Q. Velasco and Poctoy Brgy. Captain Hon. Rolando R. Vilar, who expressed their support for MSC Torrijos's efforts and promised to continue working together in advancing community welfare.

Jhonmar V. Literal of Gen 3 Farm shared insights into farm innovation, highlighting the importance of technology and entrepreneurship in modern agriculture. His presentation exemplified the spirit of innovation that permeates MSC Torrijos's academic programs and research initiatives.

Also, Vice President for Academic Affair, Associate Prof. Marvin Plata delivered a message, reaffirming the college's commitment to excellence, innovation, and community service.

1. The contest is open to all students of the College of Agriculture.

4. Contestants will use ¼ illustration board and different soil colors as painting mediums for their entries.
5. Entries will be submitted at the Learning Resource Center at 3 pm (April 25, 2024).
6. Judging will be held at the Learning Resource Center.
7. Winners will be announced on April 26, 2024.

𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟐 | April 22 | In the heart of MSC Torrijos, amidst the tranquil corridors of enlightenment, a symphony of voices convened for a pivotal discourse on mental wellness organized by Student Welfare Office with a theme "Balance and Bliss: Conversation on Mental Wellness," we embarked on a transformative journey, guided by the unwavering belief that amidst life's uncertainties, there is no room for doubt regarding our future.

PRELIMINARIES
The luminaries of our institution set the stage ablaze with wisdom and insight. Associate Prof. Marilyn Mayores- College Dean with her commanding presence, delivered an opening address that stirred the depths of our souls, igniting a flame of purpose within us all. Her words, a clarion call to embrace the unfolding tapestry of our lives with courage and conviction.
Following in her footsteps, Mr. Harvey Dulay, the esteemed Campus Director, graced us with his presence, his words a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. With each syllable, he reaffirmed our collective resolve to navigate the uncharted waters of tomorrow with unwavering determination as a student.

DISCUSSION OF THE TOPIC
As the conversation delved deeper into the intricacies of mental health, Mrs. Emelita Rodelas, the Director of the Student Welfare Office serves as the resource person took the stage, her presence a beacon of compassion and empathy. With grace and poise, she addressed the scourge of stress that plagues our modern lives offering solace and guidance to all who sought refuge in her words. Beyond offering a compassionate ear, Mrs. Emelita Rodelas equips students with the tools and resources they need to navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace. Through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one counseling sessions, she imparts invaluable coping strategies and stress management techniques, empowering students to reclaim control over their mental well-being. Whether it's mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, or time management skills, she tailors her guidance to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that they feel empowered to face whatever obstacles lie ahead. Mrs. Rodelas creates a safe space where students feel comfortable opening up about their struggles and triumphs. Her genuine interest and empathetic presence put students at ease, encouraging them to speak candidly about their fears, uncertainties, and aspirations.
Following suit, Ms. Katherine S. Asis, a Psychometrician, illuminated the path to stress management with her expertise and insight. Through practical strategies and profound wisdom, she empowered us to reclaim control over our mental well-being, one breath at a time.

Ms. Sharon Deposa, with her unparalleled wisdom, reminded us of the paramount importance of prioritizing our mental health amidst the chaos of daily life. Her words served as a gentle reminder that amidst the clamor of the outside world, our inner peace remains our most precious possession.
Lastly, Ms. Joe Mariel Mendoza, with her unwavering commitment to self-care, shared her journey towards implementing a robust self-care plan. Through vulnerability and authenticity, she inspired us to embark on our own voyage of self-discovery, armed with the knowledge that true healing begins from within.
Overall, the seminar and workshops organized at MSC Torrijos campus undoubtedly left an indelible mark on every first-year students fortunate enough to participate. Through engaging discussions, insightful presentations, and heartfelt exchanges, the event became a cornerstone of their college experience, offering invaluable lessons and fostering a profound sense of community and support.

JUST IN | On March 15, 2024, the Marinduque State College (MSC) - College of Agriculture participated in the Mangroove Planting Activity in Brgy. Bonliw, Torrijos, Marinduque.

The activity was initiated by the Provincial Government of Marinduque through the Office of Environment and Natural Resources (PG-ENRO), which aims for preservation and conservation of our environment.

Present at the said activity were Mr. Harvey A. Dulay, the Campus Director of the said college, along with the rest of the faculty, staff and OJT students.

The program started with a bountiful opening remarks by Mrs. Florinda G. Kalugdan and an inspirational message from Prov. Gov. Presbitero Velasco .

As embarking conservation through ecofriendly activity for the environment,the activity is successful. Moreover, the MSC Torrijos Campus would like to thank the aforementioned offices for letting us participate in this meaningful event.
