𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀 | 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐘 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐎

ANG PINAGMULAN

Ang Barangay Maliwalo, hindi man kasing yaman ng ibang barangay sa materyal na bagay ay tanyag naman sa napakaraming larangan, tulad mg kalinisan, kapayapaan, at pagkakaisa ng nga naninirahan dito.

Ngunit ano nga ba ang ating pinagmulan? Ano nga ba ang kasaysayan ng ating barangay?

Maraming taon na ang nakalilipas, ang lugar ay isang pulo. Ito ay kilala lamang sa pangalang "gasgas" (daanan ng tao) na nagsisilbing daan tungo sa bayan ng La Paz. Dito may isang lawa na mayroong iba't ibang uri ng isda partikular na ang "liwalu". Sa panahong iyon, may mangilan-ngilan na ring mag-anak ang naninirahan dito, kabilang na ang mag-inang naging bahagi ng kasaysayan ng lugar.

Isang araw, ang anak na lalaki ay papauwi na ng maraanan niya ang mga isdang naglulundagan sa may lawa. Sa kanyan pagkawili, naisipan niyang manghuli para sa kanilang pagkain. Mabilis itong lumusong sa tubig at buong liksing pinagdadakma ang mga isda. Dahil walang dalang lalagyan, ibinulsa na lamang niya ang kanyang mga huli. Nang mapuno ang kanyang bulsa, kinagat niya ang isda. Ngunit ito ay biglang nagpumiglas at tuloy-tuloy sa kanyang lalamunan. Nasaktan ang lalaki kaya't mabilis itong umuwi. Malapit na siya sa bahay ng sumigaw siya ng malakas. "MA................ LIWALU !!!" Pagkasambit nito. Ang binata ay binawian ng buhay.

Magmula noon, ang lugar ay tinawag na MALIWALU bilang panggunita sa binata. Sa matuling pag-lipas ng panahon at sa pagsasalin-salin sa iba't ibang tao, ang Maliwalu ay naging MALIWALO na higit na kilala sa kasalukuyan at ng susunod pang henerasyon.
