Here, come forth and rejoice!
For many great Filipinos of this nation
Prove otherwise that a voice
Can form a union of burning passion.

We, who remain, take heed of their refrain.
Cherish the freedom that was given.
Make the choices they once had taken.

The day he chose courage...

In that battlefield of 1898,
Such a despairing image...
The odds were evident, yet he remained undaunted.
In his hands, the blood of both races,
Bonifacio’s weapon—to bring justice to abusive treatment.
In a room full of pride and ignorance,
Rizal’s pen—to end the silent torment.

Silently...hoping for the sun to return.

The day she chose sacrifice...

For the future worth living,
Her beauty and innocence to suffice.
Abyss resides in her being.
Though, like Gabriela Silang,
“I will fight for what I believe in!”
No hesitation will falter.
She gave it all for the revolution...

Just to see the sun rise on the horizon.

Now, the day we choose to be...

Who, what, when...
Our decisions will define what is present.
Do you dare to make the same commitment?
To proudly set the sun to its highest?

Then, come...and rejoice!
For this nation is worth fighting for.

Ninoy Aquino Day, celebrated every August 21st, is one of the most significant holidays in Filipino history. It commemorates the death anniversary of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., a Filipino senator and political leader who was assassinated in 1983 at Manila International Airport (now known as Ninoy Aquino International Airport) upon returning from exile in the United States.

Ninoy Aquino was a prominent figure in the fight against the authoritarian regime of President Ferdinand Marcos during the 1970s and 1980s. His assassination sparked widespread protests that eventually led to the People Power Revolution in 1986, resulting in the downfall of the Marcos dictatorship and the restoration of democracy in the Philippines.

On this day, Filipinos remember Ninoy Aquino's legacy of courage, patriotism, and selflessness in the fight for freedom and justice. It is a day to pay tribute to his sacrifice and dedication to the country's democracy.
