Terrifying footage from Northern Nepal shows a powerful flash flood filling an entire valley and sweeping away homes, vehicles and other structures within seconds. The disaster struck the Nepal-Tibet border region on August 26, 2026, causing widespread destruction in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and other affected areas, with roads, bridges and power facilities also damaged.
As of the latest reports, at least 162 people have died in Nepal, while more than 400 remain missing. Across the border in Tibet, authorities reported three deaths and 265 missing, bringing the reported death toll on both sides to at least 165. Rescue teams continue searching for survivors and missing people.
The devastating floods were reportedly triggered by a massive surge of water, mud, rocks and debris following an ice-and-rock avalanche or glacial collapse. The scale of the destruction is heartbreaking, with entire communities left devastated.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the missing, their families and everyone affected by the tragedy.
