𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐤𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 , 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚 𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐨𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐅𝐈𝐋 '24

Matagumpay na ipinagdiwang ng programang pinamumunuhan ng Kapisanan ng mag-aaral sa Filipino (KAMAFIL) ang "Pasiklaban at Exhibit" kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa na may temang "FILIPINO: Wikang Mapaglaya" sa Surigao Del Norte State University (SNSU) Academic Hall.

Dinaluhan ng mga mag-aaral mula sa ibat-ibang panig ng kursong Filipino ang makabuluhang kaganapan kabilang na ang iilang mga propesor, opisyales, at mga tagapagdaloy na sina G. Patrick A. Paas at Bb. Chynna Nicole C. Capul. Ang nasabing programa ay nagtaguyod ng mataas na antas ng kasiyahan at paggalang sa larangan ng pananaliksik at sining.

Bilang pambungad sa programa at pormal na pagtatanghal, ang hapon ay nagsimula sa isang makabayang tono sa pamamagitan ng pag-awit ng SNSU Chorale sa Pambansang Awit, sinundan ng SNSU Hymn, na nagbigay ng pagkakaisa at pagkakakilanlan sa lahat ng dumalo.

Pagkatapos ay ginanap ang nasabing kompetisyon mula first year hanggang Fourth year na mga mag-aaral ang Quiz Bee patungkol sa mga pinagmulan at kasaysayan ng Filipino.

Matapos ginampanan ang kompetisyon at pagtanghal sa mga nagwaging kasapi ay agad ipinakilala ang mga pangunahing tagapagsalita at mananaliksik. Ang unang bahagi ng pananaliksik ay naglalaman ng isang talakayan ukol sa "Pamaraan ng Paggamit sa mga Salitang Balbal," na pinangunahan ni Mark John Benitez. Ang kaniyang pagtalakay ay nagbibigay-linaw sa paggamit at kahalagahan ng mga salitang balbal sa modernong lipunan.

Samantala, ang ikalawang bahagi naman ng pananaliksik ay nagkaroon ng pokus sa "Software Application: Ebalwasyon Tungo sa Pagtuturo at Pagkatuto sa Gramatikang Filipino" na pinangunahan ni Dejiemae P. Amante. Ang talakayang ito ay naglalayong suriin ang epekto ng mga aplikasyon sa pagtuturo ng Filipino sa mga mag-aaral ng SNSU. Ang mga kalahok sa talakayan ay nagbigay ng makabuluhang pananaw na tiyak na makakatulong na pagandahin ang metodolohiya sa pagtuturo.

Ang "Pasiklab at Exhibit" ay isang patunay na dedikasyon ng Unibersidad ng SNSU sa pagpapalaganap ng kaalaman at sining, na nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa lahat ng mag-aaral.

𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 | 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢, 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐌𝐨

Ang Araw ng mga Bayani ay idinaraos tuwing huling Lunes ng Agosto alinsunod sa Batas Republika Blg. 9492, s. 2007. Isa itong pagkakataon upang mabigyang-pugay ang mga bayaning gumamit ng talino, lakas, at tapang, na nagpalaya sa atin mula sa kadena ng mga manlulupig na Kastila.

Marami sa atin ay itinuturing lamang ang araw na ito bilang araw ng pahinga sapagkat walang trabaho o klase. Kaya naman, hangad ng seksyong ito na ipaalala sa mga mambabasa kung bakit ba natin ipinagdiriwang ang araw na ito at ibahagi ang aking nasaliksik tungkol sa naturang paksa.

𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗼𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼?

Bago pirmahan ni Dating Pangulong Gloria Mapacagal Arroyo ang RA 9492 noong 2007, ipinagdiriwang ang Araw ng mga Bayani tuwing huling Linggo ng Agosto ayon sa EO No. 292, Book 1, Chapter 7, na nagtalaga sa mga 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 at 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘸𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘢𝘺𝘴. Ang nasabing kautusang tagapagpaganap ay nasa ilalim ng administrasyong Corazon C. Aquino.

Ayon sa administrasyong Arroyo, ang paglilipat ng holiday o pista opisyal sa Lunes ay akma sa programang 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘴 na naghahangad na magbigay ng mahabang pahinga sa mga Pilipino upang mas pasiglahin ang domestikong turismo.

𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗸 𝗻𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶?

Ang napiling araw ay hango sa “Unang Sigaw ng Himagsikan” na rebolusyonaryo sapagkat ito ang tugatog ng himagsikang Pilipino laban sa mga mananakop na Kastila. Ito rin ang panahon kung kailan nabuking na ang Katipunan at ipinatupad ang “huwes de kutsilyo” o 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 sa mga Katipunero.

Maraming bersyon ang unang sigaw ngunit dalawa ang pinakakontrobersyal. Ayon sa salaysay ni Dr. Pio Valenzuela, ang “Sigaw ng Pugad Lawin” ay ginanap noong Agosto 23, 1986. Sa kabilang banda, “Sigaw ng Balintawak” na ginanap naman noong Agosto 26 ang bersyon ni Guillermo Masangkay na malawak na tinanggap bago ang bersyon ni Valenzuela.

Hanggang ngayon ay mainit pa rin ang debate patungkol sa kung kalian ba talaga naganap ang unang sigaw subalit naging mas matimbang ang salaysay ni Dr. Pio Valenzuela dahil sa kaniyang impluwensiya sapagkat malapit siya kay Bonifacio at isa siya sa tatlong Supremo ng Katipunan.

“𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘐 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘳. 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘶𝘦𝘭𝘢’𝘴 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘺? 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦: 𝘋𝘳. 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘶𝘦𝘭𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘉𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘰; 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰 𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘶𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯…” Ito ay ayon kay Teodoro A. Agoncillo na nagsulat sa aklat na ‘𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴.’

Sa kasalukuyan, ang opisyal na bersyong tinatanggap ng 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 ay ang “Sigaw Ng Pugad Lawin.”

𝗔𝗻𝗼 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗽 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗴 “𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘄?”

Nakalilito. Hindi rin sigurado ang mga historyador kung anong sandali ba talaga ang nagpasiklab sa mitsa ng paghihimagsik. Ito ba ay pagpapasya ng mga taong maghimagsik laban sa mapag-aping Kastila sa lalong madaling panahon? Ito ba ay pagpupunit ng 𝘤𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘢 kung saan madalas na inuugnay ang unang sigaw sapagkat simbolo ito ng ating pagkakagapos sa mga Espanyol? Ito ba ay ang paglaban natin sa mga mananakop, gaya na lamang kung paano nakipaglaban ang Mehiko sa Espanya para sa kanilang Kalayaan noong 𝘎𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘋𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴 o Sigaw ng Dolores noong 1810? O ito ba ay literal na pag-iyak?

“𝘛𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘴, 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 “𝘊𝘳𝘺” 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘰𝘳 “𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘸.” 𝘙𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 “𝘊𝘳𝘺” 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. Gaya ng sabi ni Propesor Ocampo, sayang lamang sa panahon at yaman kung bibigyan natin ng higit na atensyon ang Unang Sigaw ng Himagsikan sa halip na gugulan ang mas makabuluhang isyu ng ating nakaraan. Ang mahalaga ay may naganap na himagsikan, at dahil dito, nahimok ang puso at diwa nating mga Pilipino na ipaglaban ang ating kasarinlan.

𝗔𝗻𝗼 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗮 𝗶𝘁𝗼?

Masyado na tayong lumilipad papalayo sa mas mahalagang usapin. Dumako naman tayo sa isang importanteng tanong: 𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘣𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘰?

Noong tinanong ako ni Propesor Yson ukol dito, ang kasagutang agad kong naibigay ay, "𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘰 𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘸 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘪 𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘢𝘯." Wala namang mali sa sagot ko. Ngunit nung mas pinag-isipang mabuti ko ang tanong niya, aking napagtanto na ang sagot ko ay bahagi lamang ng isang mas malaking responsibilidad. Ang araw na ito ay araw rin nating lahat sapagkat tayo ay bayani rin sa sarilin nating paraan.

Gaya na lamang ng pagsulat ko ng artikulong ito upang maibahagi ang aking kaunting kaalaman. Gaya na lamang nina Propesor Yson at Cuabo na tumulong sa akin upang maisulat nang epektibo ang artikulong ito. Gaya mo, na nagbigay ng oras upang basahin ang napakahabang siping ito.

Nawa’y kahit papaano ay nabigyan kayo ng panibagong pananaw tungkol sa selebrasyong ito. Sabi ng NEDA, kasya na daw ang 64 pesos upang hindi ka maituring bilang isang 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥-𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘳 na mamamayan.

Marahil may katotohanan iyon.

Oo, kasya. Pero sapat ba?

𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗶𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁.

Kapag sinabi mong kasya, ibig-sabihin, 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘮 lang ang natanggap mo. Marahil, kasya ang 64 pesos pantawid-gutom sa isang tipikal na araw ng isang estudyante o manggagawa. Pero sapat ba ito upang tustusan ang pangangailangang nutrisyon ng ating katawan?

Sa panahong ito, ano pa ba ang mabibili mo sa kakarampot na halagang iyon? Sabihin nating almusal na. Ni-pandesal nga, dalawampiso na ang benta. 𝘊𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬, tatlumpiso. Asukal, tatlumpiso rin. Pero maging totoo tayo, hindi sapat ang isang pandesal at mas patok sa ating panlasa yung mga kapeng 3-𝘪𝘯-1. Bakit natin pagdadamutan ang sarili natin ng pagkaing siya ring magbibigay-lakas upang harapin ang pang-araw-araw na hamon sa buhay? Kaya bumili ka ng malunggay pandesal, palamanan mo ng 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘨𝘨, at painitin mo ang sikmura mo habang nilalasap mo ang 3-𝘪𝘯-1 na kapeng binili mo sa tindahan ni Aling Nena.

𝗛𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶 𝗺𝗼.

Para naman sa tanghalian, ano pa bang mabibili mo sa 21 pesos? Marami sa atin ang umaasa sa mga karenderya dahil walang oras maghanda ng pambaon. Sabihin nating nagbaon ka ng kanin para makatipid nang bahagya. Sa 21 pesos, lumpia o pansit na lang ata ang mapagpipilian mo. At kung nabilaukan ka pa? Wala ka pang panulak at muntikan mo pang ikamatay. Swerte ka na lang kung may libreng tubig-inumin yung kinainan mo. Yung ibang karenderya nga, may bayad na rin pati yung tubig.

Sa wakas, hapunan na. Siyempre wala kang meryenda kasi nga paubos na yung badyet mo. Pwede kang magsardinas, 𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴 na may itlog, mag-ala-Thanos ka at kolektahin mo pati 𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴. Kung feeling 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 ka naman o 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨, mag-ala-kambing ka at mag-gisa ng isang tali ng kangkong. ‘Wag mo na lagyan ng sibuyas at bawang, igisa mo na lang din sa sarili mong mantika. Ewan.

Hindi ko na hihimayin pa kung paano nila napag-isipang sapat ang 64 pesos. Alam nating lahat na kalokohan lang iyon. At kung kumbinsido talaga silang sapat ang tatlong bente at apat na piso, eh di 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰 ka lang NEDA, kuwento mo ‘yan eh.

August 20, 2024: Freshmen, returnees, and transferees across college departments attend the general orientation program.

The event started with a prayer, then the national anthem, and the SNSU hymn performed by the SNSU Chorale. The campus director, Dr. Ronita T. Talingting, established an enthusiastic tone of the event with her welcoming remarks. USC officials then presented a lively intermission number, followed by a message from Dr. Mauricio S. Adlaon, the vice president of academic affairs.

Commencing the program, deans from each college took turns presenting the program chairs and faculty members in their respective departments: Dr. Louida P. Patac from CAS, Dr. Carmelin P. Mosa from CTE, Engr. Robert R. Baccaro hails from CEIT while Dr. Rene A. Nala is affiliated with COT. Each presentation was then followed by a fiery performance from students representing their college department.

Ms. Maria Fe C. Guerra, the SAO Director, provided a thorough discussion about student affairs. Dr. Quincy D. Dumanig, the guidance counselor, presented a conversation focusing on the guidance services available to students through the institution. Concluding the morning program with an equally pertinent subject, Ms. Annielou R. Betito showcased the health services offered by the university clinic.

Proceeding with its afternoon session, the university registrar, Ms. Claret D. Ruaya, discusses the academic policies of the institution. Engr. Darwin C. Mangca, ICT Director of SNSU, highlighted the important role of ICT information and management services. SNSU Lingad Sagedsed Dance Company lit up the stage, captivating the audience with their rhythmic dance performances.

Mr. Manuel R. Arcon, the OSSH focal person, led a talk on campus safety and security, addressing potential threats and emergency preparedness. The astonishing vocals of the SNSU Chorale once again impressed the crowd. The event featured a zumba dance session for all attendees, which was facilitated by the legislative officers.

At last, the open forum's floor began to address questions from students, providing clarifications and responses from Ms. Maria Fe C. Guerra. The event was concluded by the master of ceremony, Dr. Balme M. Diva.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬: 𝐒𝐍𝐒𝐔 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 2024-2025 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐦

In an exciting kickoff to the academic year 2024-2025, SNSU hosted the “Primera Eskwela: Paghugjaw og Pagkahiusa Estudyanteng SNSUans”, presided by Mr. Rolanel Escobia ( Master of Ceremonies ) together with the indefatigable SNSUans from various departments, today, at the SNSU gymnasium.

The program commenced with a mass, followed by the National Anthem and the SNSU hymn, performed by the SNSU Chorale. A multimedia presentation of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn created a sense of national pride. Then, the BPED students started their lively with cacophony performance of opening salvo.

Mr. John Baltazar B. Cervantes, USC President, then gave his warm opening remarks, and Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, Campus Director, delivered a pellucid welcome message. A magnanimous dance performance by the SNSU Sagedsed Dance Ensemble followed this. Additionally, the KAMAFIL group performed, adding to the day’s excitement, followed by the introduction of the SNSU Administrators and USC Officers for the academic year 2024-2025.

The program also included a discussion on the university’s rules, which was led by Maria Elaine Mahumoc, the USC Secretary, providing a comprehensive overview of the university's regulations, emphasizing the importance of academic integrity and student conduct, and for the upcoming events which was stated by the USC Vice- President, Angelo Rodriguez. The prolific event ended with closing remarks by the Campus Organization In-Charge, Eden Gliff P. Sebag.

The celebration acted as a catalyst for new horizons; it was a moment of innovation and hope. It marked a great start to the year, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering an environment filled with unity and enthusiasm.

Pinarangalan ang 312 na graduates mula sa College of Technology (COT) sa kagaganap lamang na 54th Commencement Exercise na siya ring 2nd Chartered University Graduation ng Surigao del Norte State University, Huwebes ng Hunyo 6, 2024, sa SNSU Gym.
Nagsimula ang programa sa pagpasok ng mga nagsipagtapos, g**o, panauhin, at pinuno ng pamantasan na agad na sinundan ng panalangin ni Bb. Michelle B. Donoso, BSTM Cum Laude, at pambansang awit na pinatnubayan naman ni Bb. Shiela Mae T. Rodriguez, COTSO Governor. Matapos nito ay opisyal nang binuksan ni Bb. Claret D. Ruaya, University Registrar, ang gradwasyon.

Naghandog naman ng mensahe si Bb. Precy O. Ibañez, BSTM Magna Cum Laude, at ihinayag niya ang kaniyang malugod na pasasalamat sa Panginoon, at sa lahat ng sumuporta sa kaniyang paglalakbay upang marating niya ang kaniyang kinaroroonan ngayon. Sa kaniyang talumpati, sinabi niyang, “your potential knows no boundaries,” na akma sapagkat matagumpay nilang naharap ang mga pagsubok na kaakibat ng isang kolehiyolo o kolehiyala.

Ipinakilala naman ni Dr. Gregorio Z. Gamboa, Jr., University President, si G. Dennis M. Enad na nakamit ang ika-4 na puwesto sa kagaganap lamang na Registered Master Electrician (RME) Examination. Isinalaysay niya ang mapapait na karanasan noong walang nais tumulong sa kaniya. “Let’s face the truth, this is the reality. You know, my beloved graduating class, at the time of failure, when you fell down, you only have nothing but yourself to help you get up.” Sa kabila nito, ginamit niya ang mga karanasang iyon bilang motibasyon hindi lang para sa kaniyang sarili kundi para rin sa kaniyang asawa at anak. Hangad niya sa mga tagapakinig na huwag silang panghinaan ng loob at tulungan nila ang kanilang mga sarili upang magpunyagi sa kanilang buhay.
Kalaunan ay iginawad na rin ang mga diploma, medalya, at sertipiko sa mga nagsipagtapos na pinangunahan ni Dr. Gamboa, at inalalayan nina Dr. Mauricio S. Adlaon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, City Campus Director, at Dr. Marilou B. Carnicer, COT Dean.
Ang pagtatapos nila ay simula lamang ng panibagong kabanata sa kanilang buhay.

𝐒𝐍𝐒𝐔 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐀𝐒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐓

The 54th Commencement Exercises of Surigao Del Norte State University (SNSU) on June 6, 2024, at the SNSU gymnasium, celebrates the graduation of the Class of 2024 from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT). The event, themed "Leveraging Education through Academic-Industry Collaboration," marked the 2nd Chartered University Graduation. The ceremony began with a vibrant procession of graduates, faculty members, and university officials.

Ms. Claret D. Ruaya, the SNSU Registrar, opened the ceremony, followed by an invocation by Mr. Jhon Steven C. Espenido AB EL - Cum Laude and the national anthem led by Ms. Eva Marie E. Josue BSES - Cum Laude. Mr. Eric Ariarte AB EL - Magna Cum Laude, delivered a welcome address, emphasizing perseverance, commitment, and passion. He reflected on the phrase, "bahalag magkinaunsa basta mugraduate ko" (no matter what happens, I will graduate), illustrating the students' determination. He connected this sentiment to the slogan, "para kanino ka bumabangon?" expressing that earning a diploma is not just for personal achievement but also to support their families and serve others. He offered tailored advice to graduates, stressing safety and integrity for future engineers, preparedness for cyber challenges for digital courses, and responsible mining for Environmental Science graduates.

Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, the Campus Director, presented a total of 379 candidates for graduation in the Academic ear 2023-2024 from the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) and the College of Arts and Sciences. The breakdown is as follows: 20 from Bachelor of Computer Science (BSCS), 37 from Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), 32 from Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), 29 from Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE), 17 from Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (BSECE), 45 from Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and 98 from Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE). In College of Arts and Sciences, 68 from Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences (BSES), 8 from Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (BSMath), and 25 from Bachelor of Arts in English Language studies (AB EL).

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of appreciation to Dr. Paradela by University President Gregorio Z. Gamboa Jr., and the awarding of diplomas, medals, and certificates by Dr. Mauricio S. Adlaon, Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, Engr. Robert R. Bacarro, and Dr. Louida Patac. The event celebrated the graduates' achievements and marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

June 5, 2024 @ 1:00 pm, SNSU Gymnasium - The 54th Commencement Exercises of Surigao del Norte State University took place at the SNSU Gymnasium. The event began with a processional march that included graduates, faculty, and university leaders, followed by opening remarks from University Registrar Ms. Claret D. Ruaya, emphasizing the achievements of the graduates and the supportive role of the SNSU community. The ceremony featured an invocation prayer by Mr. Kim Peter O. Diez and the national anthem performed by Mr. Noel Jan V. Sandrijo. Ms. Jane Christine M. Enaldo then delivered a heartfelt welcome address, setting a positive tone for the event.

Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, the City Campus Director, presented 279 candidates for graduation from various programs, including Doctor of Philosophy, Master in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Secondary Education. Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Mauricio S. Adlaon formally recognized the graduates' hard work by presenting their certificates of completion. The university president addressed the graduates, highlighting their perseverance and academic achievements, and introduced the commencement speaker, Ma'am Alma Sy-Patron.

Ma'am Alma Sy-Patron delivered an inspiring speech, reflecting on the graduates' journeys and encouraging them to embrace their future with confidence and gratitude. She emphasized that completing their education is a shared triumph with their families and supporters. Her address highlighted the comprehensive nature of "finishing," not just as an end but as a foundation for future endeavors. In recognition of her speech, she was awarded a plaque by University President Dr. Gregorio Z. Gamboa, Jr.

The ceremony concluded with the awarding of diplomas, medals, and certificates, led by the university president and other academic leaders. Graduates took a Pledge of Loyalty to their Alma Mater and the SNSU Alumni Association, reaffirming their commitment to support one another in their post-graduate endeavors. A tribute to parents, a lively graduation dance, and a recessional led by the university president marked the end of the formal proceedings, symbolizing the graduates' transition from their academic pursuits to their future careers.

𝐒𝐍𝐒𝐔 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 ‘24 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬

The Class of 2024 from different departments; the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Technology (COT), and College of Teacher Education (CTE), attended their solemn Baccalaureate Mass, together with their parents, professors, campus administrators, and the presence of the SNSU Chorale, collided and coalesced in gathering the Baccalaureate Mass 2024 as a pre -graduation ceremony marking the beginning of the celebration of their achievements. The mass was presided by Rev. Father Carlito M. Tiu, DCS, held at the SNSU Gymnasium on June 05, 2024, Wednesday.

Afterwards, the Baccalaureate mass lucidly anticipated with a deep homily of the priest about life's dignity and virtues for the graduates. Then, the thanksgiving exultantly addressed by the Master of Ceremony, Dr. Merlyn L. Estoque, Dean , Graduate School, followed by the Hooding ceremony for graduates and the acknowledgement for those people who plays an integral part of the success of the commencement.

A college journey was never been easy. It is filled with challenges and trials, but if we forge ourselves to the success, anything is possible as long as you have the courage and determination and you can do it by the help of God.
