Gearing up for Nation's Greater Heights, Surigao del Norte State University takers of the September National Licensure Examination for Teachers across all branches, surpassed the National passing rate for both Elementary and Secondary.

According to the data revealed by Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT), here are the impressive passing rates for SNSU campuses:

SNSU Malimono Campus - 89.66%
Against the National Passing Rate of 74.95%

With an overall passing rate of 54.45% for Elementary and 56.93% for Secondary, Surigao del Norte State University's (SNSU) unceasing commitment continued to make a mark in the Licensure Examination for Teachers in the September 2024 board exam result.

Countrywide, PRC and BPT announces the result, disclosing a 20,025 elementary teachers out of 44,002 (45.51%) and 48,875 secondary teachers put of 85,926 examinees (56.88%) successfully passed the LEPT given on September 29, 2024 in 40 testing centers all over the Philippines.

Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU)-Main Campus successfully hosted the culmination program of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) on December 13, 2024, at the SNSU Gymnasium. Pursuant to Office Memorandum No. SNSU-ADMIN-12-039, Series 2024, along with first and second-year undergraduate students from various programs attended the event.

The program aimed to raise awareness about violence against women and promote zero tolerance within the university community emphasizing the importance of gender equality, empowerment, and support systems.
Keynote speakers from local government Ms. Chermie L. Solana, RSW introduces penalties for online gender-based sexual harassment and fines under RA 11313 in line with RA 7877 that focuses on harassment in employment, education or training environments and Ms. Frankinita Z. Ortiz, RSW expanded Anti-Trafficking in Person Law.

The 18-Day Campaign culmination program demonstrated the university's commitment to end violence against women. By fostering awareness, unity and collective action, SNSU continues to promote a safe and inclusive environment for its students , companions, and constituents.

The Guidance and Counseling Center of Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) concluded its 4-day Learning Session with an insightful talk held at the SNSU Gymnasium on December 10. Students from various colleges attended the final day of the event, which focused on preparing students for the professional world.

The session, titled โ€œReady na ba ang tanan? Gearing up for Employment,โ€ was led by Ms. Mary Ivie C. Arlan, RPM. Her discussion revolved around the essentials of employment preparation, including resume building, interview tips, workplace etiquette, and career planning. Ms. Arlan emphasized the importance of self-awareness and readiness when entering the job market.

The 4-day event, which ran from December 9 to December 12, covered various topics aimed at enhancing studentsโ€™ academic, personal, and professional growth. Each day featured a different theme and speaker, addressing critical issues such as stress management, self-care, and employment readiness.

The Guidance and Counseling Center expressed its gratitude to the speakers, students, and organizers who contributed to the success of the program.

Fourth-year College of Teacher Education students from various specializations convened at the Academic Hall for a three-and-a-half-day sample review session conducted by the Falculan Twins Review Center (FTRC) in preparation for the National Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). Senior Lecturer Sir Gandi Lexter B. Lupian of FTRC led the event, covering core subject areas through practice exams designed to familiarize candidates with the exam format, time constraints, and question types.

The review started on December 10th and will end on the afternoon of December 13th with a FREE SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION. Those who pass the examination will receive up to a 100% discount at the review center, become members of the FTRC Special Group, and significantly increase their chances of achieving a top score on the LEPT.

Students from various colleges gathered at the Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Gymnasium on the second day of the 4-day Learning Session organized by the universityโ€™s Guidance and Counseling Center. The series, designed to address student well-being, runs from December 9 to December 13 and aims to equip students with practical tools for managing stress and achieving academic success.

The Day 2 session, titled โ€œStress Less, Achieve More: Thriving Under Academic Pressure,โ€ was delivered by Ms. Josiemar N. Banaybanay, RGC (Registered Guidance Counselor). Her engaging presentation focused on strategies to help students navigate the demands of academic life while maintaining mental and emotional well-being.

The Guidance and Counseling Center emphasized that the learning sessions are part of their holistic approach to student development, addressing academic, emotional, and social aspects of university life. The 5-day event continues with more sessions aimed at further empowering students to thrive in their academic journeys.
