As we commemorate All Souls' Day, may we extend our prayers to those people deceased and the souls of whom have already been ignored.

2nd Week of Lent
Like 6: 36-38

The gospel today stated that " Be merciful just as your father is merciful, stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned."

When the lent season started, the word forgive, is one of the most stated words in the readings and gospels.

As I was listening to the priests' homily, what he said truly reflects our society nowadays. We tend to judge people easily, it may be based on their physical appearance or anything that we see on them. We condemn people just because they've hurt us, even the slightest mistake, we sure all did condemn someone. It truly hit that hard, deep into my soul since I was once a judgemental person, well I used to be. We judge everybody we see, and if other people judge us, we get angry, anxious, and any other unexplained emotions. We cannot deny that there will be moments we judge other people out of the blue. But let us just try to lessen it or refrain from doing it. We condemn people even it was truly not a big deal or anything that doesn't make sense.

During this lent my dear brothers and sisters, let us be reminded by the gospel today. Let's forgive people who have hurt us. Forgiving someone may be difficult especially if they truly caused a lot of damage to us, but let us remember that God is always there for us who will catch us and allow us to heal. Forgive, let go and let God.

Challenges and temptations are part of our lives as Christians. As what have the priest said " Be Generous. Be a loving, caring, compassionate, and forgiving person."

You deserve peace, we all do.

2nd week of Lent
Transfiguration of Jesus

Every day, God reveals himself to us in a number of ways. Some have a more profound significance than others. It might be a simple act of kindness, the beauty of nature, or the fulfilment of a prayer. God's grace frequently surprises us when we least expect it.

God's Presence manifesting as a cloud says something about God. A cloud descended and blocked the view as Moses approached Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments from God. When Solomon rebuilt the Temple, a cloud engulfed it once more. And we shouldn't be surprised when the cloud arrives on the peak with Jesus, Peter, John, and James. God's Presence is all around them.

When God shows up in our everyday lives, we are expected to be disciples who spread his word. We are urged to open our hearts to those who are in need, to help those in need, and to be good neighbours. When Jesus appears to be absent from our life, let us try to open our eyes and seek him out.

Christian leaders must educate their flocks the way to sit in God's Presence and to be content with not knowing about something, but rather knowing Something. God isn't made of simply edible and relevant truths; rather, God is shrouded in mystery. That is what transforms us. That is what changes the trajectory of our life. Moses and Elijah emerged from the cloudy mountain with a bright, altered visage. Peter, James, and John are forever changed as a result of their experiences on the mountain. Whatever happened, Luke alone tells us that these two appeared to encourage Jesus, to remind him that they, too, along with all the hosts of heaven, were gearing up to fulfil everything God had been planning to accomplish since sin and evil appeared during the creation to sully God's good intentions.

In today's Gospel, Jesus instructs his disciples to love their enemies and to pray for those who persecute them. In our society, we try to do things in a humane manner - such as it is. But Jesus reminds us that every person is lovable, even the one who irritates us. Love has the power to overcome daily irritations, misunderstandings, and little quarrels.

We humans are constrained by our own physical limits. We relate to one another, for example, with a cup of equality, not just in terms of act but also in terms of emotional care. By establishing a true loving relationship with the people around us, Jesus showed us the necessity of having a healthy relationship with God. But wait, can we recognize ourselves in our adversary's path? This will be quite challenging. God forewarned us that hating our opponents makes us no better than tax collectors and pagans. Obviously, we don't want to be like them. We longed to be cleansed of our sins and to spend eternally in paradise with Jesus.

God taught us during this Gospel is to love our enemies, pray for them, and have faith in His promise to form us children in paradise. this is often the particular justice and righteousness that God desires for us to practice throughout our lives. God actually desires for us to display His unfathomable love for us. Thus, this Bible reading teaches of God's justice and righteousness to man, which is nothing but the glory of His love.

Solemnity of Immaculate Concepcion
December 8,2021

We commemorate Mary, our Mother, on December 8th. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic feast day that commemorates Mary's sinless conception.

"From the earliest moment of her conception, the Blessed Virgin Mary was kept free from any taint of original sin, by the singular favor and privilege of Almighty God, and in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of Mankind," according to the Immaculate Conception doctrine.

Let us continuously ask for the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary, so that we may be holy and receptive to all that God has prepared for us, as she is.

2nd Sunday of Advent
December ,2021
Catholic Handicapped Day

Advent is a season in which we are urged to embark on a faith journey. What is the strength of your faith? What is the source of your greatest skepticism? When these issues are posed, we frequently think of someone other than ourselves who either aids or hinders our faith. Today, Jesus inquires, "Who do you claim I am?" If what you've heard is accurate, how has Jesus' presence in your life impacted you? Do others recognize what it means to be a Christian in you? Advent urges us to adopt a fresh perspective. We will become more believable as we announce Christ's forgiveness in our lives and as we become more open to God's forgiveness in the lives of others as a result of this new change of heart.

Advent Season: December 3, 2021
Feast of St. Francis Xavier
The Patron Saint of Missions

Saint Francis Xavier was Spanish-born French missionary to the Far East. He was born on April 7, 1506 at Xavier Castle near Sangüesa, Navarre. Born into a noble Basque family, he was educated at the University of Paris, where he met Saint Ignatius of Loyola and became one of the first seven members of the Jesuits. In 1537, he was ordained as a priest, and in 1542, he spent three years in India doing missionary work. In 1545, he established missions in the Malay Archipelago. Four years later, he traveled to Japan, where he was the first to introduce Christianity systematically. Then he returned to India in 1551 and died in Sancian Island, China while attempting to secure entrance to the country. He is believed to have baptized about 30,000 converts; his success was partly due to adaptation to local cultures. In 1927 he was named patron of all missions.

St. Francis Xavier, pray for us!

Advent Season: November 30,2021
Feast of St. Andrew, the First Apostle
Patron Saint of Fishermen, singers, Scotland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Patras

Andrew the Apostle, usually known as St. Andrew, was a Christian Apostle and the older brother of St. Peter. Andrew was born in the early first century in the village of Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee, according to the New Testament. Andrew was a fisherman, just like his younger brother, Simon Peter. Andrew's name means "strong," and he was well-known for his social abilities.
According to Matthew's Gospel, Jesus was walking down the beach of the Sea of Galilee when he came across Andrew and Simon Peter fishing. The two were then asked to become followers and "fishers of men," as he put it.

Andrew was crucified and martyred at Patras. In the Acts of Andrew, he was chained to a crucifixion rather being nailed to it. Andrew was crucified on a cross known as "crux decussata," which is an X-shaped cross or "saltire," and is now known as "St. Andrew's Cross." It is thought that Andrew requested to be crucified this way because he felt "unworthy to be executed on the same type of cross as Jesus."

Pope Paul VI had all of St. Andrew's relics that had ended up in Vatican City returned to Patras in September 1964. Many of Andrew's relics, as well as the cross on which he was killed, are now maintained in Patras' Church of St. Andrew.

St. Andrew is revered in Georgia as the first Christian preacher in the country, and in Cyprus for striking the rocks and causing a rush of healing waters when he landed.

1st Sunday in Advent
November 28,2021
"Hope"

Every year, we start the new liturgical year with a four-week Advent celebration. Advent is the season of beginnings, and it is a season of waiting. The Bible encourages us to actively await the return of the Lord as king at the end of time.

Waiting is that space between where we are and where we wish to be for many people. Such a location does not appeal to us. We want to get out of here and accomplish something meaningful. As we wait for the Lord, advent teaches us to be patient. Meanwhile, we are invited to reflect on our lives and evaluate how we have prepared a place for Christ to be born anew in our lives and the lives of others we care about. We're on the lookout and on the alert! Please, Lord Jesus, come while we wait!

The Gospel reading for this first Sunday of Advent encourages us to be "vigilant at all times," saying that we should not let life's anxieties make us weary as we await the Lord's return. Allow this Advent season to be a time of new beginnings and change. Let it be a joyful and hopeful moment for all of us. Only God has the ability to reassemble the damaged pieces of our existence. We must listen to the angels sing, "Glory, Glory, and Glory to the newborn King!" throughout this Advent season. Lord Jesus, come.

Don't lose hope.

Feast of St. Andrew Dung-Lac and Companions
Red Wednesday Day

Between 1820 and 1862, 117 persons were martyred in Vietnam, including Andrew Dung-Lac, a Catholic convert consecrated to the priesthood. In the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, members of the companions group devoted their life for Christ, and between 1900 and 1951, they were beatified four times. During the pontificate of Saint John Paul II, all of them were canonized.

The Portuguese brought Christianity to Vietnam. In 1615, the Jesuits established the first permanent mission in Da Nang. They served Japanese Catholics who had been expelled from the country.

At least three times in the nineteenth century, severe persecutions were launched. Between 100,000 and 300,000 Catholics were slaughtered or suffered considerable hardship in the six decades following 1820. Priests of the Paris Mission Society and Spanish Dominican priests and tertiaries were among the foreign missionaries slain in the first wave.

Emperor Minh-Mang outlawed all foreign missionaries in 1832, and attempted to persuade the Vietnamese to forsake their faith by treading on a cross. Many hiding places were offered in homes of the faithful, similar to the priest-holes in Ireland under English persecution.

When the emperor accused foreign missionaries and Vietnamese Christians of sympathizing with a rebellion led by one of his sons, persecution erupted once more in 1847.

The last of the martyrs, hanged in 1862, were 17 laypeople, one of whom was a 9-year-old child. A pact with France that year gave Catholics religious freedom, but it did not end all persecution.

Feast of St. Cecilia, Virgin and Martyr
Patron Saint of Musicians

A Greek holy romance based on the Loves of Cecilia and Valerian was created in the fourth century to glorify virginal life and to compete with the then-popular sensual romances.

As a result, until better evidence emerges, we must conclude that St. Cecilia was unknown and unloved in Rome until Pope Gelasius (496) incorporated her name into his Sacramentary.

In the fifth century, there was a church dedicated to St. Cecilia in Rome, where Pope Symmachus held a council in 500.

St. Cecilia's tale is not without beauty or merit. She was known to be very close to God and prayed frequently.

Because she heard heavenly music in her heart when she was married, St. Cecilia is known as the patroness of music and is often depicted holding an organ or organ pipes.

In 1599, her body was unearthed and proved to be incorrupt, making her the first of all incurrupt saints. She was dressed in a gold embroidered gown with a silk veil. Officials just peeked through the veil out of reverence and did not conduct any more investigations. A "strange and beautiful flower-like odor emanated from the casket," they added.

The relics of St. Cecilia were moved to Cecilia's titular church in Trastevere and put beneath the high altar.

The church of St. Cecilia was restored in 1599 by Cardinal Paolo Emilio Sfondrati, Pope Gregory XIV's nephew.

Feast of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, religious

Elizabeth's tremendous sympathy for the poor and suffering earned her the titles of patroness of Catholic charities and the Secular Franciscan Order during her brief life. When she was the daughter of Hungary's King, Elizabeth chose a life of penance and austerity for a life of leisure and luxury. This decision won her popularity among the common people all over Europe.

Elizabeth entered the Secular Franciscan Order in 1228 and spent the rest of her life caring for the destitute in a hospital she established in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Elizabeth's health deteriorated, and she died in 1231, just shy of turning 24. Four years later, she was canonized because of her immense popularity.
