CHINESE WARSHIPS, BINABANTAYAN NG AFP SA SULU SEA

Patuloy na binabantayan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines - Western Mindanao Command (AFP-WesMinCom) ang tatlong barkong pandigma ng People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) na namataan sa Basilan Strait at Sibutu Passage patungo sa Sulu Sea.

Kabilang sa mga barkong ito ang Renhai-class missile-guided cruiser, Jiankai-class frigate, at Type 903 Fuchi-class replenishment oiler.

Unang namonitor ang mga ito sa West Philippine Sea noong Pebrero 2, bago nag-navigate sa Mindoro Strait patungo sa Sulu Sea.

Sa kabila ng international regulations, pumasok ang mga naturang barko nang walang paunang diplomatic coordination at naglayag sa hindi karaniwang mabagal na bilis na apat hanggang limang knots, na hindi naaayon sa prinsipyo ng innocent passage.

Sa kasalukuyan, patuloy na sinusubaybayan ng Philippine Navy ang kilos ng mga barko, habang nakahandang rumesponde ang Philippine Air Force sa anumang sitwasyon.
