In the first staff meeting for March, newly installed principal, Noemi L. Bulan, encouraged UNHS staff to direct school efforts in addressing learning gaps, March 14.
Disseminating the directives in the Management Committee Meeting yesterday, Mrs. Bulan advised teachers to adhere to the 'home-grown' educational projects of the Schools Division Office in implementing learning initiatives.
"Let us see to it that we are following the project of the SDO, in line with the vision of DepEd Matatag," the school head said.
In terms of learning improvement, the school leader reminded the teaching staff to go beyond 'usual' teaching.
"We have to make sure that we also touch lives of our learners. So that later, they will be assets to the community or the country. We need to serve the students,"
Meanwhile, she encouraged the staff to build a 'smooth and healthy' relationship, citing her experiences in managing close-knit teams.
"We encourage one another. Dapat hawak-kamay tayong tataas."
The meeting also informed the teachers and administrators updates in each learning area, including reading and numeracy programs and school management.

UNHS SENDS OFF FORMER PRINCIPAL,
New School Head to Take Over
by Carol Sabado
Uddiawan National High School conducted the Send off, Turnover and Welcome Ceremonies for the previous principal and the new school head at the UNHS Quadrangle, March 8.
UNHS Teachers and Employees Association organized the transitional rites, which was attended by key officials, school heads and guests from other schools.
The out-going principal, Dr. Trinidad B. Logan, served Uddiawan National High School for 18 months, now installed as school head of Solano High School.
Dr. Logan shared her experience when she first set foot in the school.
"We had a very silent program, very limited personalities were invited because we observed the protocols. I was not scared even thought it's time of pandemic because I know that people in Uddiawan will guide me" she said in her farewell speech.
Meanwhile, Noemi L. Bulan, Principal I, is the newly designated school head of UNHS.
According to her, she expressed her gratitude for her new assignment
"Today marks another milestone in my life as a school head. I thank Ma'am Rachel for giving me this opportunity and her trust to lead UNHS," Mrs. Bulan said.
The 52-year old leader wished for a cooperative relationship with the faculty and staff.
"I am looking forward for a smooth and healthy relationship"
Dr. Dindo John Moreno, the steward of Solano II District, gave some tips to the new principal and expressed his goodwill to the school.
For Dr. Cesario C. Mariano, Public School District Supervisor, he is very excited to work with Mrs. Bulan. He also recalled that he had talked to her and shared his plans for the district.
During the ceremony, the UNHS teachers performed a Zumba dance while the UddiaJuans Guild of Musicians rendered a mash up of love songs as intermission numbers.
The honorees, staff and guests had their lunch at the UNHS conference hall, after the ceremony.
Mrs. Bulan is yet to meet the faculty and staff for a meeting to discuss her plans for the school.

UNHS, Residents Pay Tribute to Morales
Barangay Local Government of Uddiawan and Uddiawan National High School offered a tribute to the late Carlos Morales, February 27.
Teachers and residents attended the funeral service for Morales in the morning at the Uddiawan Gymnasium before his burial rites at Bintawan Sur Cemetery.
Among who gave the eulogies were significant people who commemorated the life of the late MAPEH teacher.
"He was a shining star in the school and in the community. Let us live a principled life just like Sir Carlos." Dr. Trinidad B. Logan said.
The school principal recalled how they both planned the Golden Jubilee of the school but was saddened when she received the sudden death of his colleague.
Daniel Tayaban, Principal II, told how Morales was able to help him improve his skills in the school.
"I was one of the [advisees] of Sir Carlos. He saw the potential in me, and that's how I became the volleyball player and [corps] commander during our time." recalled Tayaban.
According to Glenda B. Salunat, former UNHS principal and whom he had been with throughout his stay, Morales had a strong legacy.
"In terms of skill, Sir Carlos was a jack of all trades. He was the Practical Arts and MAPEH teacher during his initiation at UNHS. He was also a coach of cultural and athletic competitions where he even won at the national [level]." said Salunat.
In the final act of the service, students, teachers and residents join in the flower offering before sending Morales to his burial.
Carlos Morales, Teacher III of Uddiawan National High School, died of cardiac arrest last February 19 at age 62. Among his final works in the school include the newly built RDNEB corner and the Golden Jubilee #
The Brook extends its solemn prayers for the eternal repose of the soul of Carlos Morales.

SA DULO NG AKING PAGHIHINTAY
Sa dulo ng aking paghihintay
Kailanma'y hindi nagmaliw
Ang pag-ibig kong inaalay
Nang may pagsinta at giliw
Ngunit sa pagtakbo ng oras
Tila paghanga ko sa yo'y nahimlay
Panahon na ba para bigyang-wakas
Ang paghangang aking binibigay?
Sa matagal kong pag-aantabay
Sinadya mo akong paikut-ikutin
Paghangang naging pagka-umay
Pagsintang hindi kayang pilitin
Ako'y nabagot, napagod, nasaraduhan
Kaya sarili ko nama'y aking paglilingkuran #
