On this day 52 years ago, former President Ferdinand Marcos declared martial law on September 21, 1972, which devastated the lives of the Filipino people.

The Riverside Current Media joins the remembrance of the 52nd Anniversary of the Martial Law. Recognizing and patronizing the brave people who sacrificed and fought for freedom and democracy during a dark period in our nation’s history. On this significant day, we reflect on the resilience and courage of those who stood up against oppression, risking their lives and futures for the sake of justice and human rights.

As we commemorate the 52nd Anniversary of Martial Law, it is a must to remember the lessons that countless brave people fought for us to learn. Their experiences and will to fight against authoritarianism gave us the privilege of freedom, and although history is somehow repeating itself, the people that fought and revolutionized like before are still present in the current time. People's power deters people in power.

We honor and thank the sacrifices of the countless individuals, families, and communities who faced violence, injustice, and hardship with strong minds and hearts and remained steadfast in their pursuit of a brighter future for generations to come. Their legacy continues to inspire us to advocate for social justice, equality, and democratic freedom.

You can alter the records in the books, but you can never change the history ingrained in the minds and experiences of the people. Those who have awakened will never close their eyes again, while those who turn a blind eye will remain blind for life.

Latest viral posts on social media have falsely suggested netizens that consuming seafood in Sebaste, Antique and surrounding areas is unsafe. These rumors stem from reports of a cadaver (dead body) found floating in the waters, sparking baseless horror of fish contamination.

Promptly addressing this misinformation, the SciMath organization consulted Prof. Garner Alolod, a fisheries expert, who confirmed that there is no scientific basis to support these claims that caused inessential distress to the public. He stated:
