My father is the quintessential Filipino father – strict, disciplined, and a firm believer in the power of a well-placed belt. Growing up, his discipline instilled a healthy dose of fear in me, making me hesitant to take risks or venture outside the boundaries of his expectations. As a child, my impulsiveness often led to clashes with his stern demeanor, but despite his military-like approach, rebellion never crossed my mind.

I focused on my studies, driven by a sense of responsibility rather than pressure. While he rarely voiced his pride, his quiet actions spoke volumes. He'd proudly share my achievements with friends and relatives, a testament to his silent support.

Among my siblings, I sometimes felt like the least favorite, but I understood his intentions. He wanted me to be independent, mature, and responsible – the qualities he expected of his eldest son. Our opposing views often led to misunderstandings, but I was never a troublemaker. I was the typical church-school-friends boy (in my teens), though not the most responsible in the family.

Despite our differences, my father knew how much I loved him, flaws and all. And though he rarely expressed it, I knew his love for me ran deep. I often wondered if I had lived up to his expectations, if I had disappointed him. But then I remembered the time I broke my leg. He was there for me, tirelessly caring for me in Legazpi. That experience solidified the truth: my family, especially my father, would always be there for me in my darkest hours.

He's not perfect, but given the chance to be born again, I wouldn't change a thing. I thank God for his life and for his birthday. My greatest wish is for him to live a long and healthy life so I can repay the love and support he has given me.

Introducing this year's recipient of the LEADERSHIP AWARD, Mr. Leo Mar Osal Fiestas, a source of pride for the ABM community...

As the SSLG President, he has effectively represented students in various engagements with stakeholders. His initiatives have significantly enriched the student body, yielding tangible benefits. Notably, Mr. Fiestas was among the exclusive group of four SSLG presidents in the province chosen to attend the Learner's Convergence in Marikina City, a testament to his dedication and leadership in fulfilling his responsibilities as the SSLG President.

The ABM (Accountancy, Business, and Management) strand demonstrates exceptional academic performance, with 13 out of the 16 students achieving High Honors in Grade 11 for the school year 2023-2024. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the total enrollment of almost 500 students in Grade 11.
