LABAAAN TITANS!!! GOOD LUCK BUKAS! IUWI ANG PANALO!!! 💜💎

2024 PVL REINFORCED
THE PROBLEM IS CULTURAL, UNDERSTAND IT (Post 2772)
Let's get straight to the point.
I expect Choco Mucho to qualify for the quarter-finals of the PVL Reinforced Conference.
And I expect it for a few important reasons.
Number one : Choco Mucho is a Rebisco team and Rebisco is the most organized Company in the League when it comes to Volleyball.
They deserve the satisfaction to be with those that count.
Rebisco proved for several years with Creamline to be able to dominate Shakey's League and PVL.
They have always, intelligently, kept rosters intact until they needed 1 specific player to reinforce the team and chosen Coaches that proved they could win investing money on them.
Rebisco did not probably study Volleyball the way I intend and teach but they surely know how to run a group of people.
And Choco Mucho, for all this, must belong to the best not 8 but 4 Teams in the Philippines.
Number two: Choco Mucho has the roster to not only qualify in the best eight but to win the league. In fact, they have come very close to it in the last 2 seasons closing dramatically the gap with sister Creamline.
Before those seasons, I had predicted that Choco Mucho would reach the finals and challenged Creamline till the very end. And so it happened.
Because players like Wong, Tolentino, Madayag, Tubino have enough intelligence and power to win a League. And Coach Dante had proven to be able to step in and put order in a traditionally confused and confusing environment.
And he did.
But before the beginning of this season, I had the feeling that Choco Mucho had reached its peak of knowledge and perhaps balance. That a couple of moves made were wrong and it could not compete anymore with the best.
This for several reasons that I already explained at the Academy. Nevertheless, while my predictions never included them as possible finalists, Choco Mucho remained in my imaginary a very important Team with a very important Roster and a coaching staff that could bother every opponent in a good day. Somehow, that it could overcome the visible problems until the Semi-finals.
Or maybe it could not. As the toy might now be irreparably broken.
I will not enter the sphere of The Marites Club and leave it right here. But, right now, I cannot imagine what goes through the minds of those valuable players.
Allow me to say here, without any sugar coating, without any inhibitions, without any fear of being accused of bashing this or that (because I don't give a s**t anyway) that is really very disappointing that a Coach that is also partially responsible for the failure of Choco Mucho so far leaves the team two days before the most important game he has ever played in the Club.
Yes! More important than the finals, because next Thursday it will be a matter of Life or Death, of professional survival or failure, not Gold or Silver.
I know for a fact (I checked it out) that PNVF and PVL summon coaches like they summon players and a coach must respond the call when it comes.
But allow me to say that it is a matter of Culture, of Professionalism, Ethics, Dignity and Respect that a Man must recognize the exact moment in which Authority must have no space in one's life because it's relationships that become fundamental in the development of the Professional and the Team he accepted the responsibility for.
As an Employee that must prove being worth of the trust given by a Company. As a Man that show his Players that he is a Leader no matter what, that the words of courage and collaboration said so far were not empty slogans but deep promises from the heart till death pulls us apart.
A Leader dies in battle ... before the eyes of its soldiers, defending them when the hour of Death is near. A Leader gives all he has, for them.
Proves that that trust asked for at the moment of the Application was put in the right hands.
What value does a Captain that leaves the sinking ship can have in the eyes of those who have built it, maintained it and made it beautiful and efficient? ... Not much ... not at all, in my opinion.
It is indeed a matter of Culture, it seems to me.
I am a Sicilian. My word, my promise, my loyalty is all I have.
It doesn't matter how big my bank account becomes. Without honor I am nothing.
If you knew our history, you'd understand many posts.
More colonized than Filipinos, Sicilian have lived in peace with Greeks, Arabs, Spanish, Austrians and French. But when the French pulled to rope, in Palermo 2,000 of them were slaughtered in 1 night only. We find agreements. And respect them until it's right.
And it is always right to give Rebisco what Rebisco gives you.
Coach Dante should have stayed. I don't care what others say. He owes Rebisco. He owes his Players.
If PVL threatened to disqualify me because I don't go sit next to a Coach that doesn't really need me in Indonesia, well ... f**k PVL and PNVF too.
My girls need me more and if I cannot go on bench because they retaliate, I'll sit in the stands with my phone and give instructions for the whole duration of the game until I achieve that damn qualification, until I entirely deserve all the trust given me by that Employer and those Players.
Until I prove I am the Man I swore to be.
Even if I lose that game on Thursday. It's OK. I would have lost just a game. Not my reputation.
I expect Choco Mucho to win on Thursday 'cause Wong, Madayag, Tolentino, Tubino and all others are real Women that believe in themselves even when the Leader is not there.
That want to prove that they are and belong to the best 8 in the Country.
That want to give the loyal fans all they have inside no matter what ... no matter the problems between players, no matter the problems of the correlations between block and defense, no matter the problems of the receiving formation, no matter the problems of the Tactical serves that never come in time when the score becomes hostile.
Wake up! Choco Mucho is not 9th because Faki is not a good import. That is a fat lie to cover up the tactical truth. But now Choco Mucho must qualify to prove that, together (finally!) there is always a solution to the problems and that no matter who is there or who is missing, it is the professionals with their honor and dignity that build the pedigree of a Club that wants to excel and always achieve its goals. Just like the old sister.
I have never supported any team unless I had a professional relationship with it. And you have never known who it was. But this time, even if I know 0 people at Choco Mucho, I will be watching the game hoping that Wong becomes the leader of a group of brave soldiers that will give the Club the position and the pride it deserves.
This is just my point of view on the matter.
Good luck, Choco Mucho.
