Mayo 14, 2021 – Sa patuloy na suporta sa mga g**o sa pangangasiwa sa blended learning, ang Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd) ay nakatakdang magbahagi ng connectivity load na aabot ng tatlong buwan para sa mga g**o sa susunod na buwan.

"With or without the pandemic, the Department has actively advocated for policies and programs that will further support our teachers. Through this connectivity allowance, we hope to continuously assist our teachers in their duties to deliver quality education to our learners amidst the situation," ani Kalihim ng Edukasyon Leonor Magtolis Briones.

Habang isinasagawa ang EduAKSYON press conference sinabi ng Pangalawang Kalihim para sa Administrasyon Alain Del Pascua na nagsimula na ang proseso ng pagkuha ng connectivity load na magbibigay sa mga pampublikong g**o ng 30 hanggang 35 GB data alllocation bawat buwan.

“We will begin to roll out sig**o next month. We will be asking our teachers to register in DepEd Commons para mabigyan sila ng load sa kani-kanilang cellphone,” dagdag niya.

Nabanggit din ni Usec. Pascua na ang 35 GB bawat buwan ay sapat na para sa mga online teaching na mga aktibidad dahil ang 1GB bandwith bawat araw ay magagamit ng walong oras para sa online webinars, downloading, panonood ng videos, bukod sa iba pa.

Bilang karagdagan, ang ‘di nagamit na data allocation ay maisasama sa mga susunod na buwan hanggang isang taon habang hindi nauubos na ng husto ng gumagamit ang 100 GB.

“Ineexpect namin na napakarami ng magagawa mo sa bandwidth na ito, ine-expect namin na higit tatlong buwan hanggang anim na buwan magagamit ng teacher itong connectivity load,” sabi ni Pascua.

May mungkahi rin na bigyan ang mga g**o ng sim cards na magagamit sa data connections para sa mga gawain sa paaralan.

Bukod pa rito, in-update ni Usec. Pascua ang lahat sa mga kasalukuyang programa ng DepEd na tutulong maitaguyod ang bisyon ni Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte na Public Education Network (PEN), na naglalayong i-connect ang lahat ng mga paaralan at mga opisina ng DepEd sa buong bansa at bigyang daan ang mga opisyales ng paaralan at mga g**o na isulong ang content ng walang internet.

“Pino-procure na rin po ngayon yung ilang libong laptop sa DBM-PS (Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service) para maibigay din sa ating mga teachers at mga walkie talkie para dun sa mga lugar na mga walang cellphone signal. Ang gagamitin naman natin DepEd Radio through walkie talkie,” pagbabahagi niya.

Sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungang ito ng Department of Information and Communications Technology at Converge ICT Solutions Inc., ang DepEd ay nagsimula na rin sa pagkuha ng satellite connectivity para sa Last Mile schools o mga nasa malalayong lugar.

“So, in a matter of few months, ang ating mga Last Mile schools, mga dalawang libo po sila, magkakaroon sila ng satellite connectivity. They can now be connected,” ani Usec. Pascua.

Ang mga pagsisikap na ito ay pinangungunahan ng Information and Communications Technology Service na pinamumnunuan ni Direktor Abram Y.C. Abanil, sa ilalim ng Administration Strand na pinangungunahan ng Pangalawang Kalihim Alain Del B. Pascua at Assistant Secretary Salvador Malana III. Ito ay parte ng Public Schools of the Future (PSOF) Framework ng Administration Strand sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Kalihim Leonor Magtolis Briones.

Agosto 11, 2020 - Nais ipabatid ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon na hindi kinakailangan ng mga mag-aaral na magsuot ng uniporme ng paaralan sa anumang distance learning approach na gagamitin nila para sa SY 2020-2021. Bago pa man ang pandemya, hindi isang mahigpit na utos sa mga pampublikong paaralan ang pagsusuot ng uniporme ng mga mag-aaral (DepEd Order No. 065, s. 2010) upang maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng karagdagang gastos sa kanilang mga pamilya. Habang ipinagbabawal ang face-to-face classes, ang mga mag-aaral ay hinihikayat na magsuot ng kanilang pinaka-komportable at naaangkop na pananamit habang natututo nang ligtas sa kanilang mga tahanan.

The Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Okayama Award 2020 is now open for applications.

The award to be conferred by the Okayama City and ESD Okayama Award Steering Committee will reward outstanding ESD practices in local communities around the world and organizations promoting and carrying out ESD activities.

Eligibility: Organizations based in any country, including Japan, implementing ESD activities in local communities are eligible to apply for the Global Prize.

The deadline for applications is on 31 July 2020.

Ang birth certificate ay hinihingi bilang reference sa Learner Information System (LIS). Ito ay kailangang i-submit ng mga incoming Kinder, Grade 1, Grade 7, Grade 11, at transferees. Hindi po ito hinihingi taun-taon.

Tandaan na ang birth certificate mula sa dating National Statistics Office (NSO) ay walang expiration at pareho lang sa birth certificate mula sa kasalukuyang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Sa magpapasa ng barangay certification, tiyakin na nakalagay rito ang buong pangalan, birth date, at kasarian ng bata, at pangalan ng mga magulang.

Good news:
GSIS will not collect June loan payments and this will have an effect of loan term extension. DepEd will refund the loan payments withheld from the June salary.

Update:
GSIS is also processing the refund of the March loan payment that was remitted to GSIS in April. Concerned deped employees need not to apply to gsis for the refund as it will be remitted to your UMID cards.
