GOOD NEWS |

With pride and joy, the Salogon High School once again wins WINS (pun intended), for 3 consecutive years of advocating sanitation, hygiene and health education in the school, Salogon High School has gone too far and has been awarded the ‘SEAL OF EXCELLENCE’ by the Division of Camarines Sur WINS validation team.

Congratulations to the two faces behind this fruitful recognition-- ma’am Lany Icamen-Padin, awardee, Outstanding WASH advocate (Teacher Category) and sir Edgar C. Clarino, awardee, Oustanding WASH advocate (School Head Category). Your efforts and relentless service to this cause have not gone unnoticed and have made a significant impact to the school and community. Your dedication and commitment to promoting good hygiene practices, healthy school environment and access to clean and safe water are truly commendable and serve as an inspiration to others. SHORTENED CLASSES |

Pursuant to Proclamation no. 326 s. 2012 (Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day) and Proclamation no. 60 s. 1992 and in adherence to Proclamation no. 32 s. 2023 classes are hereby suspended tomorrow, September 25, 2023 from 3:00 PM onwards.

Classes will be shortened to 45 minutes per subject. Please be guided with the posted schedule below:

7:15-8:00 AM - 1st Period (Morning classes)
8:00-8:45 AM - 2nd Period
8:45-9:30 AM: 3rd Period
9:30-9:45 AM: Recess

ENROLLMENT | Enrollment for School year 2023-2024 is still ongoing, along with this would be the Numeracy and Literacy assessment for incoming Grade-7 students which is scheduled by batch. The first batch is scheduled on August 23 and the second batch is on August 24, 2023 with the same time, 8 AM - 4 PM. While late enrollees shall be accommodated on August 29, 2023.

Reading assessment is an initiative of the Department of Education which aims to measure and describe the learners' performance in both English and Filipino languages in oral reading, silent reading and listening comprehension. The reading assessment will utilize the Phil-IRI or the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory. Furthermore, the reading assessment is in compliance with the DO 14, s. 2018 or the 'Policy Guidelines on the Administration of the Revised Philippine Informal Reading Inventory.'

The Salogon High School community would like to congratulate Jeremiah Jade DA. Idos, Grade 9 student for being elected as Youth Representative (LGBTQIA+) during the election of officers for Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) held last August 7, 2023 at the Pimentel Building 1, San Antonio, San Jose, Camarines Sur.

The creation of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) rooted from the Republic 4881, Articles 359-360 of the Civil Code of the Philippines which mandates the government to establish Councils for the Protection of Children. The LCPC officers shall serve as individuals advocating for the rights of children and providing support to those who have experienced trauma, neglect, exploitations and abuse. They shall ensure that children are protected from harm and given the opportunity to thrive.

Furthermore, the election for LCPC officers were participated by selected Student Government Officers in all Secondary schools in San Jose district.

Ang Salogon High School sa pangunguna ng ating Ulong G**o, G. Edgar C. Clariño ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2023 na may temang: ' FILIPINO AT MGA KATUTUBONG WIKA: Wika ng Kapayapaan, Seguridad at Ingklusibong pagpapatupad ng Katarungang Panlipunan.'

Salogon High School wins WINS

Congratulations to Salogon High School for a well-deserved 3-star award (Seal of Excellence) for 3 consecutive years. This was made possible through the micro and macro efforts of our dear teachers, WinS club officers, SSG officers, stakeholders, parents, supportive School head Mr. Edgar C. Clariño, and most especially to the face behind this recognition, Ma'am Lany Icamen-Padin, the WinS coordinator.

This recognition is not only for the school but also to all individuals who have shared their time and effort to improve sanitation and cleanliness of Salogon High School.

We promise to maintain and improve our WinS services to extend this program not only to the school but also to the community.

The Department of Education, in support to the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda—‘implementing impactful and focused reforms to enhance the education system in the country,' is set to roll out the National Learning Camp (NLC) this summer break, July 24 to August 25, 2023.

As per DepEd Order no 014, s. 2023, the NLC is a voluntary program that will start its phased implementation with Grades 7 and 8 focusing on English, Science and Mathematics.

Furthermore, learners shall be enrolled based on their specific needs; they shall be categorized in one of the three camps: Enhancement Camp, Consolidation Camp, or Intervention Camp.

a. Enhancement camp (with 84 and above average)
-designed to enrich learning for ADVANCED learners by providing greater depth, breadth and complexity of learning area competencies
-with 3 subjects (English, Science and Math)
-2 sessions in a day, 2.15 hours in a day and 45 minutes per session
-maximum of 35 students per class
-Duration: 3 weeks (July 24-August 11)

b. Intervention camp (with 74.0 and below average)
- designed to support learners who are yet to grasp fundamental literacy and/or numeracy skills such as reading, writing and/or arithmetic
-2 subjects only
a. English - 2.15 hours in a day and 3 sessions in a day
b. Mathematics – 45 minutes in a day
-maximum of 10 students per class
-Duration: 5 weeks (July 24-August 25)

c. Consolidation camp (with 75-83 average)
-designed to provide further practice and application of grade-level learning competencies
-with 3 subjects (English, Science and Math)
-2 sessions in a day, 2.15 hrs. in a day, 45 minutes per session)
-maximum of 35 students per class
-Duration: 5 weeks (July 24-August 25)

These three NLC camp groups are voluntary learning program and set only for three days in a week, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
