3 years ago, my goal was simple:
It’s to get hired for an online job that would allow me to stay close to my late mom Emma 🤍, who was battling cancer at the time, and to help cover her medical bills as well as our household expenses. Papa had just retired, and all our savings went to medical bills. 🙏🏻 It was worth it, though, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.
At that time, all I knew ang importante may kitain ako, maka-share ng konti sa meds, at pag need ni Mama ng kasama on a weekday sa hospital, available ako para i-drive siya.
I even tried teaching English online sa chinese kids for almost two years. Nagturo ako online from 7am to 11pm everyday para lang malaki kitain ko monthly, pero yung time ko ubos at yung pagod ko halos tatagos na sa pader haha.
But that changed when I learned about premium freelancing.
Minanifest ko maging "girl boss" kahit na hindi pa naman ako nakaka-land ng international clients hahaha.
Fortunately, I did after a year of joining this Freelance community called Tribe.
Now, from simply wanting to “get hired” online and be with my mom…
Ang dami ko pang ibang goals na natupad in 3 years, like…
✓ Earning my dream figures
✓ Going out on a weekday
✓ Start and end my workday at whatever time I want.
✓ Mentor aspiring social media managers
✓ Hire amazing freelance creatives
✓ Invest in a small lot
✓ Get myself insured
…All in a span of 3 years.
