SUSPENSION OF CLASSES AT ALL LEVELS (PUBLIC AND PRIVATE)

According to the latest PAGASA Weather Advisory, the Province of Camarines Sur will experience moderate to heavy (50 - 100 mm) rainfall until tomorrow evening (December 2). This weather condition is anticipated to cause localized flooding especially in areas that are highly urbanized, low-lying or near rivers, as well as landslides in highly susceptible areas.

Further, flooding incidents and impassable spillways in several municipalities have been observed. To ensure the safety of students and school personnel from the threats brought by this weather disturbance, classes at all levels (public and private) is suspended tomorrow, December 2, 2024.

Resumption of Classes at All Levels (Public and Private)
In view of the improving weather conditions in Camarines Sur, please be informed of the following directives regarding the resumption of classes at all levels (public and private):
• For the municipalities of Caramoan, Garchitorena, Tinambac, Siruma, and the northern coastal barangays of Lagonoy, classes will resume on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
• For all other municipalities in the province, classes will resume on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
This is to provide schools with sufficient time to prepare their classrooms and facilities following the impacts of Super Typhoon "Pepito."
For schools that have been severely affected, sustained significant damage, or are currently serving as evacuation centers, School Heads are given the discretion determine the appropriate date for resumption based on their assessment of the school’s readiness to safety accommodate the students.

The Province of Camarines Sur is under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1. According to PAGASA, moderate to heavy rains (50-100 mm) is expected today until tomorrow afternoon (November 11). Under these conditions, flooding, flashfloods, and rain-induced landslides are likely, especially in areas identified as highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards, and those areas where soil saturation remains high from the recent flooding.

To ensure the safety of the students, school personnel, and the general public, classes at all levels, both public and private, are suspended tomorrow, November 11, 2024, until lifted.

Implementation of Mandatory Evacuation in Relation to Tropical Depression “Nika”
According to PAGASA, Tropical Depression (TD) Nika is expected to move westward toward the coast of Camarines Sur tomorrow (Sunday) and may intensify into a Tropical Storm (TS). As of 5:00 PM today, Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is raised over the Province of Camarines Sur.
Moderate to heavy rains (50 - 100mm) is expected tomorrow afternoon to Monday afternoon (November 11), which may cause flooding and landslides in highly susceptible
areas.
With some municipalities still affected by flooding and families still vulnerable due to the effects of STS "Kristine," mandatory evacuation in high-risk areas will be implemented tomorrow, November 10, 2024, at 6:00 AM, or earlier at the discretion of the Local Chief Executive (LCE) as the situation warrants.

In the aftermath of Severe Tropical Storm "Kristine", several municipalities across the Province of Camarines Sur remain flooded, affecting communities and vital infrastructures, including our schools. Given these circumstances and to prioritize the safety of students, school personnel, and the public, classes at all levels, both public and private, will remain suspended tomorrow, October 28, 2024, until lifted.

This suspension allows time for the continued recovery in affected schools and communities.

"Kristine" is forecast to bring moderate to heavy rainfall over the Province of Camarines Sur from tonight until tomorrow evening (October 21).
In light of this, classes at all levels, both public and private, are hereby suspended tomorrow, October 21, 2024, until lifted.
