The Philippines 🇵🇭 has just been crowned the world's top island-hopping destination, with Thailand 🇹🇭 securing the 3rd spot!

According to Planet Cruise's research, which looked at safety, social media buzz (think Instagram and TikTok hashtags), summer temperatures, ferry prices, and the number of islands, the Philippines topped the charts. With 2,000 inhabited islands, a perfect summer temp of 26.9°C (80°F), and a stellar social media score of 11,280, it's no wonder it's the ultimate island-hopping paradise!

Pagadian City, situated under the jurisdiction of ZAMBOANGA del sur, is considered the regional center of the Peninsula. However, it has failed to make it to the Top 50 lists of top tourist destinations. Similarly, the province of ZAMBOANGA del sur is ranked only 63rd, making it the only regional capital in the entire Philippines that does not significantly contribute to the country's tourism.

Despite being dubbed as the "Hongkong of the Philippines," Pagadian City has not been able to attract a substantial number of tourists, with Zamboanga del Norte surpassing Zamboanga del Sur in this aspect.

Despite the efforts of City Mayor Sammy Co, Pagadian City continues to struggle in terms of tourism. Additionally, the city is at risk due to its location, as it is situated along major fault lines of the Peninsula. These factors have contributed to the city's inability to establish itself as a prominent tourist destination.
