Calling the attention of all local band in Occidental Mindoro!
All interested are invited to join the 'MusicLaban sa Sablayan'
(Inter-Town LIVE Band Competition) in celebration of 123rd Founding Anniversary of Sablayan.

Mechanics of the Event:
1. Open to all local bands of Occidental Mindoro.
2. All interested must fill up the form with the link provided below, and submit a 3 minutes video performance as an audition piece.
3. Only 10 bands will be selected to perform live.
4. No age limit.
5. Maximum of seven (7) members per band and minimum of five (5) members.
6. Each band must play 3 songs on the live performance.
a. Folk Song (Tagalog or English)
b. Free choice
c. Dugoy Festival Theme Song (Own Rendition)
7. Each band must perform the Dugoy Festival Theme Song with your own style. The lyrics and melody must not be changed.
8. Each band must perform atleast 8 minutes and must not exceed to 15 minutes.
9. Each member of the group is not allowed to join or play with another band, otherwise both bands will be disqualified without any consolation or awards
10. Each band must provide a maximum of 3 minute audio visual presentation (AVP) upon start the actual stage performance.

Criteria for Judging (Battle of the Bands) Iba ka Sablayan!

1. Musicality and Technical Proficiency (30%)
- Overall sound quality, harmony, and tightness.
- Skill level of individual members (vocals, instruments, etc.).
- Precision and coordination during the performance.
2. Stage Presence and Showmanship (25%)
- Energy and confidence on stage.
- Interaction with the audience.
- Band synergy and charisma.
3. Originality and Creativity (20%)
- Unique style, arrangement, and interpretation of songs.
- Innovation in presentation or performance.
- Distinctiveness of the band's sound or concept.
4. Audience Impact and Engagement (10%)
- Ability to captivate and connect with the audience.
- Audience participation and response.
- Memorability of the performance.
5. Overall Performance and Ex*****on (15%)
- Seamlessness of the setlist and transitions.
- Professionalism and preparedness.
- Adherence to time limits and event guidelines.

Today marked another milestone for the SMWA-Overseas Filipino Workers for being awarded as the recipient of the DSWD- SLP financial grant. We were represented by 30 members from an association of almost 100 members. The DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program (as defined in their website) is a capability-building program for poor, vulnerable and marginalized households and communities to help improve their socio-economic conditions through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihoods. This event was graced by Rep. Erwin Tulfo and Rep. Edvic Yap, our very own Mayor Walter 'B**g' B. Marquez ( who undoubtedly trusted and referred us) , Vice-Mayor Edwin N. Mintu , Cong. Odie Tarriela and the Sangguniang Bayan Members of Sablayan. Thank you for entrusting us with this. Special thanks to Sir Fox Oximas Prime for the support. We will do our best to use this fund productively. To our fellow Migrantes, this is for each and everyone of us. Let us help each other to succeed🙏Cheers!
