A Mother's Unyielding Love for her Son
In the cradle of a mother's tender care,
A son with Down syndrome, beyond compare.
Since his entrance, life took a different hue,
In his smile, her purpose she knew.
Fear gripped her heart for what lay ahead,
Judgments of others, a shadow they spread.
"Can he be normal?" the question loomed,
School, family, future - all a room.
She questioned God, in a moment of despair,
"Why me?" echoed in her silent prayer.
Yet through his eyes, a vision clear,
Patience bloomed, erasing fear.
In his laughter, hope found a place,
In his presence, she found grace.
Stronger she stood, against the tide,
Her faith in God, now fortified.
Unconditional love, in its purest form,
In his embrace, she weathered the storm.
Blessed she felt to have him near,
Yet the fear of time whispered in her ear.
What if one day he journeyed on,
Leaving her heart heavy, her soul wan?
But in the now, their love shines bright,
In her arms, his beacon of light.
A mother's love, unyielding, true,
In her son, a love so pure and new.
His presence, a gift beyond measure,
A bond eternal, a love to treasure.
